Inleiding.
Te Mill staat ten zuiden van de spoordijk, op de plaats waar het Defensiekanaal een bocht van 90 graden maakt, de kazemat B (90a) 527, daterende uit 1939-1940. De wal is ter plaatse aan de zijde van het kanaal afgegraven.
Omschrijving.
De flankerende betonkazemat staat op ca. 50 meter ten noorden van het Defensiekanaal en deed dienst als traditore kazemat, die in zuidelijke richting op het voorterrein vóór de stelling ter hoogte van de kazematten 525-523 kon vuren. De kazemat is gaaf bewaard gebleven en vertoont nauwelijks gevechtsschade.
Waardering.
De kazemat is van algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een culturele en geografische ontwikkeling, namelijk de versterking en daaropvolgende verdediging van Nederland tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog en is als zodanig een belangrijk document van de militaire geschiedenis. Het is van architectuur- en bouwhistorisch belang wegens het bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de toepassing van moderne materialen en technieken, met name in de verwerking van gewapend beton. Het heeft ensemblewaarden als essentieel onderdeel van een groter geheel, dat cultuurhistorisch van belang is en is van belang wegens de hoogwaardige kwaliteit van de bebouwing en de historisch-ruimtelijke relatie met wegen, wateren en bodemgesteldheid. At Mill stands south of the railway embankment, at the location where the Defence Canal makes a 90-degree bend, the casemate B (90a) 527, dating from 1939-1940. The rampart has been excavated at this point on the canal side.

The flanking concrete casemate stands approximately 50 metres north of the Defence Canal and served as a traitor casemate, which could fire in a southerly direction on the open ground in front of the fortification at the level of casemates 525-523. The casemate has been well preserved and shows scarcely any battle damage.
Valuation.
The casemate is of general importance. The object has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a cultural and geographical development, namely the fortification and subsequent defence of the Netherlands during the Second World War and as such is an important document of military history. It is of architectural and construction-historical importance because of the particular use of materials and the application of modern materials and techniques, in particular in the working of reinforced concrete. It has ensemble values as an essential component of a larger whole, which is of cultural-historical importance, and is important because of the high-quality standard of the built structures and the historical-spatial relationship with roads, watercourses and soil conditions. The complex as a whole has great perceptual value and is, as a large-scale military complex and reminder of an important episode in national history, rare.
