Omschrijving
SLUISKOM, gesitueerd aan de zuidzijde van de Werverdijk. De sluiskom heeft als grondvorm een ongelijkzijdige vierhoek, waarbij de smalste zijde aansluit op de in het dijklichaam bevindende, uit 1814 daterende tongewelfde inlaat. Twee zijden van de sluiskom bestaan uit een betonnen talud dat, gescheiden door een looppad, aansluit op een gemetselde voetmuur in het water. Ter plaatse van het pomphuis is muur vanuit het water opgetrokken. In het verlengde links van de voorgevel van het pomphuis bevindt zich de later gewijzigde uitlaat. De sluiskom wordt door een eenvoudig ijzeren hekwerk omgeven.

SLUICE BASIN, situated on the south side of the Werverdijk. The sluice basin has as its basic form an irregular quadrilateral, whereby the narrowest side connects to a barrel-vaulted inlet dating from 1814 located within the dike body. Two sides of the sluice basin consist of a concrete slope which, separated by a walkway, connects to a masonry wall at the water's edge. At the location of the pump house a wall is constructed from the water. In line with the left of the front facade of the pump house is the later modified outlet. The sluice basin is surrounded by a simple iron fence.
Valuation
Sluice basin of general importance due to the development in the history of hydraulic engineering works. From a hydraulic engineering perspective, the sluice basin is of particular significance. This unique provision, which is rare or scarcely found in the Netherlands, has a specific technical background because it can only be operated when the storage basin is sufficiently filled.
