Inleiding
De BRUG is gelegen over de brede singelgracht ten zuidwesten van het jachthuis Ter Horst, die een verbinding vormt tussen de Voor- en Achterlaan (nu: Horstlaan). De Neo/Classicistische vormgeving van de brugleuningen sluit aan bij vergelijkbare hekwerken op Beukenhorst en De Paauw, die eveneens kort na het midden van de 19de eeuw tot stand zijn gekomen onder leiding van de Duitse tuinarchitect C.E.A. Petzold, als onderdeel van de Umfahrungsweg. Vanaf de brug heeft men een goed uitzicht over de brede singelgracht, die een belangrijke hoofdas binnen de formele tuinaanleg vormt. Op de vier uiteinden van de brug staan vier (vernieuwde) betonnen schandpaaltjes.
N.B. het brugdek en de landhoofden zijn vernieuwd in de tweede helft van de 20ste eeuw.
Omschrijving
Vaste licht gebogen brug met vernieuwd houten brugdek rust op betonnen landhoofden. Aan weerszijden van de brug bevinden zich smeedijzeren brugleuningen, bestaande uit pijlers met kruislings geplaatste staven, welke op het snijpunt verlevendigd zijn met gietijzeren rozetten. De uiteinden van de pijlers en staven hebben een decoratieve krulvormige beëindiging.

Introduction
The BRIDGE is situated over the broad moat canal to the southwest of the hunting lodge Ter Horst, forming a connection between the Voor- and Achterlaan (now: Horstlaan). The Neo-Classical design of the bridge railings corresponds with comparable ironwork at Beukenhorst and De Paauw, which likewise came into being shortly after the middle of the 19th century under the direction of the German landscape architect C.E.A. Petzold, as part of the Umfahrungsweg. From the bridge there is a good view over the broad moat canal, which forms an important main axis within the formal garden layout. At the four ends of the bridge stand four (renewed) concrete bollards.
