ZAALKERK uit 1862, behorende bij het kerkelijk complex van de Oud-Katholieke gemeente "'t Huis te Poort".
Omschrijving
Zaalkerk met driezijdige apsis en zadeldak, opgetrokken in grauw metselwerk in staand verband.
De voorgevel is een tuitgevel met gepleisterde en met rondbogen geprofileerde hoeklisenen. De symmetrische gevel bevat in het midden de licht terugspringende entree- en vensterpartij, in een hoog opgaande geprofileerde rondboog omlijsting. De entree bestaat uit een dubbele houten paneeldeur met dubbele vierkante en rondbooglijsten, en een gietijzeren rondboogsnijraam met bloemvormige tracering. De entree wordt gescheiden van de vensterpartij door een fries met in gotische belettering 'Oud katholieke kerk'. Het hoge gietijzeren venster met zesvlaksroedenverdeling wordt bekroond door een snijraam conform eerder beschreven. De hoeklisenen zijn voorzien van cordonlijsten en daarboven en daaronder voorzien van rondboog spaarvelden. De hoeklisenen worden afgesloten door sterk uitkragende, geprofileerde houten kroonlijsten. De tuit is voorzien van een omlopend band in pleisterwerk en wordt bekroond door een gietijzeren kruis.
De zijgevels zijn voorzien van drie gietijzeren rondboogvensters, voorzien van tracering in de kop, gedragen door zuiltjes. De zijgevels zijn beeindigd met een bakgoot.
Aan de achtergevel bevindt zich de driezijdige apsis met zinken dakbedekking. Boven dit dak bevindt zich een houten rondboogdeur die toegang geeft tot de zolder boven de kerkzaal.
Het interieur is gedeeltelijk in oorspronkelijke staat teruggebracht en wordt gekenmerkt door room-, roze- en grijsblauwkleurige pleistering van de wanden. De wanden zijn verticaal geleed door middel van roze gepleisterde bundelpijlers met kapitelen boven een grijze gepleisterde plint. Aan de bovenzijde zijn de pijlers verbonden door een rondboogfries, dat tevens fungeert als kooflijst van het gewelf. De gewelfvlakken zijn grijsblauw geschilderd, de ribben roze. Een viertal rozetten versiert de middelste gewelfvlakken. De kerk telt vijf traveeën met in de zijgevel alternerend vensters en nissen in pleisterwerk met dezelfde indeling.
Aan de koorzijde bevindt zich de driezijdige apsis met draaitabernakel. Aan weerszijden van de apsis zijn beelden aangebracht in twee ondiepe rondboognissen, links H. Johannes de Doper (1380) en rechts H. Liduina (ca. 1880), beschermheilige van Schiedam. Voor het koor de communiebank. Aan de voorzijde bevindt zich achter de entree op een galerij het tweeklaviers mechanisch orgel met vrij pedaal en 13 registers, gemaakt in 1866 door de fa. Bätz & Co. uit Utrecht, gerestaureerd in 1984 door de firma Verschueren uit Heythuysen.

Hall church with three-sided apse and gabled roof, erected in grey brickwork in stretcher bond.
The front facade is a spout gable with plastered and round-arch profiled corner lisenes. The symmetrical facade contains in the centre the slightly recessed entrance and window section, in a tall profiled round-arch surround. The entrance consists of a double wooden panelled door with double square and round-arch mouldings, and a cast-iron round-arch tracery window with floral tracery. The entrance is separated from the window section by a frieze with in gothic lettering 'Oud katholieke kerk'. The tall cast-iron window with six-part glazing bar division is crowned by a tracery window as described above. The corner lisenes are provided with cordon mouldings and above and below provided with round-arch spandrels. The corner lisenes are terminated by strongly projecting, profiled wooden cornices. The spout is provided with a continuous band in plasterwork and is crowned by a cast-iron cross.
The side facades are provided with three cast-iron round-arch windows, provided with tracery in the head, supported by little columns. The side facades are finished with a gutter.
On the rear facade is the three-sided apse with zinc roof covering. Above this roof is a wooden round-arch door that provides access to the attic above the church hall.
The interior is partially restored to original condition and is characterised by cream, pink and greyish-blue coloured plasterwork of the walls. The walls are vertically articulated by means of pink plastered bundle pillars with capitals above a grey plastered plinth. At the top the pillars are connected by a round-arch frieze, which also functions as the soffit cornice of the vault. The vault surfaces are painted greyish-blue, the ribs pink. Four rosettes decorate the middle vault surfaces. The church has five bays with in the side facade alternating windows and niches in plasterwork with the same articulation.
On the choir side is the three-sided apse with rotating tabernacle. On either side of the apse are figures placed in two shallow round-arch niches, left St. John the Baptist (1380) and right St. Liduina (ca. 1880), patroness of Schiedam. Before the choir the communion rail. In front is located behind the entrance on a gallery the two-manual mechanical organ with independent pedal and 13 registers, made in 1866 by the firm Bätz & Co. from Utrecht, restored in 1984 by the firm Verschueren from Heythuysen.
