Inleiding
REGENTENHUIS, deel uitmakend van het complex "Hofje van Belois", gebouwd in 1926 in Traditionalistische trant naar een ontwerp van architect A. Stahlie (1886-1934) te Schiedam. Het regentenhuis neemt een centrale positie in op het trapeziumvormige binnenterrein van het hofje.
NB: Het regentenhuis wordt tegenwoordig gebruikt als kantoor van de Historische Vereniging Schiedam.
Omschrijving
Het vrijstaande regenthuis is opgetrokken in rode baksteen in kruisverband en bestaat uit een driezijdige middenrisaliet onder een puntdak bekroond door een bakstenen pinakel, met aan weerszijden een rechthoekige vleugel onder een zadeldak. De daken zijn met rode pannen bedekt.
In de beide vleugels dubbele openslaande paneeldeuren met in beide deuren verticaal kijkraampjes. In het middenrisaliet eenruitsramen met glas-in-lood bovenlichten met afbeeldingen van Schiedam.
Het interieur bevindt zich nog in oorspronkelijke toestand en omvat een houten lambrisering om de kasten heen getimmerd, kroonluchter, regentenstoelen, schouw met schouwstuk, voorstellende stadsgezicht Schiedam, W.C. met granieten vloer, zwart-witte vloertegelversiering, geel-blauwe muurtegels en fonteintje.

REGENTS' HOUSE, forming part of the complex "Hofje van Belois", built in 1926 in Traditionalist style after a design by architect A. Stahlie (1886-1934) in Schiedam. The regents' house occupies a central position on the trapezoidal inner courtyard of the hofje.

Description
The detached regents' house is constructed in red brick in running bond and consists of a three-sided central risalit beneath a pointed roof crowned by a brick pinnacle, with on either side a rectangular wing beneath a gabled roof. The roofs are covered with red tiles.
In both wings double casement panelled doors with vertically placed peephole windows in both doors. In the central risalit single-light windows with leaded glass fanlights depicting Schiedam.
The interior is still in original condition and comprises wooden wainscoting fitted around cupboards, chandelier, regents' chairs, fireplace with chimneypiece depicting a city view of Schiedam, W.C. with granite floor, black-and-white floor tile decoration, yellow-blue wall tiles and small fountain.
