Inleiding
Het aan de gracht gesitueerde WERRK-WOONHUIS Voorstraat 90 is een voorbeeld van de Neo-Classicistische bouwstijl en maakt deel uit van het complex ZEEPFABRIEK Bousquet. Deze zijn verbonden met twee eveneens als rijksmonument beschermde pakhuizen aan de Molenstraat, een zijstraat van de Voorstraat.
Wijzigingen zijn aangebracht in de rechtgesloten vensters in de tweede bouwlaag. In de jaren 1990 zijn de raamroeden verwijderd.
Het pand bevindt zich in het beschermde stadsgezicht van Delft.
Omschrijving
Het pand Voorstraat 90 heeft een zeer langgerekte plattegrond. Het rechthoekige deel aan de voorzijde funktioneert als kantoor. Dit deel van het gebouw telt twee bouwlagen onder een schilddak, deels gedekt met gesmoorde, deels met rode Hollandse pannen. Achter het kantoor zijn bedrijfsruimten gesitueerd, die deels in open verbinding staan met de overdekte doorgang in het pand Voorstraat 92. De bedrijfsruimten bestaan uit één hoge bouwlaag en zijn het gevolg van geleidelijke uitbreidingen van de zeepfabriek.
De lijstgevel aan de voorzijde is samengesteld uit een gepleisterde eerste bouwlaag en een tweede bouwlaag van schone baksteen. Midden boven de geprofileerde lijst is een dakkapel geplaatst met segmentboogvormige bovendorpel en éénruits vensters.
De in drie traveeën opgedeelde gevel heeft in de eerste bouwlaag drie geprofileerde rondbogen, die rusten op de kapitelen van de pilastervormige penanten. De middendorpel is sterk aangezet en vormt over de gehele breedte van de gevel een horizontaal accent. In de rechter travee staat een drieruits paneeldeur onder een éénruits bovenlicht. Tweeruits vensters met eenruits bovenlichten bevinden zich in de overige traveeën. Onder de vensters zijn verdiept liggende panelen aangebracht. Een gepleisterde cordonlijst markeert de overgang van de eerste naar de tweede bouwlaag. In de tweede bouwlaag staan drie rechtgesloten vensters met een éénruits bovenlicht in de schuiframen.
Een hardstenen stoep vormt de overgang van straat naar voorgevel. Geheel rechts, naast de voordeur, staat een hardstenen stoeppaal, voorzien van een decoratief motief op de taps toelopende schacht.
In het sobere interieur is aan de rechter zijde een gang opgenomen, met over de resterende breedte van de gevel, tot in het pand Voorstraat 92, een rechthoekige kantoorruimte.
Waardering
Voorstraat 90 is als onderdeel van het complex zeepfabriek Bousquet van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische, architectuurhistorische en stedenbouwkundige waarde.
Het complexonderdeel is van cultuurhistorische waarde als een bijzondere uitdrukking van een industriële ontwikkeling, namelijk zeepfabriek binnen een stedelijke kern, waarbij de veranderingen die het produktieproces de afgelopen twee eeuwen onderging afleesbaar zijn aan het gebouw.

The WORK-DWELLING HOUSE situated on the canal at Voorstraat 90 is an example of the Neo-Classical building style and forms part of the SOAP FACTORY complex Bousquet. These are connected with two warehouses on the Molenstraat, a side street of the Voorstraat, which are likewise protected as national monuments.
Alterations have been made to the closed windows in the second storey. In the 1990s the glazing bars were removed.

Description
The building Voorstraat 90 has a very elongated plan. The rectangular part at the front functions as an office. This part of the building has two storeys under a hipped roof, partly covered with suppressed, partly with red Dutch tiles. Behind the office are business spaces, which are partly in open connection with the covered passage in the building Voorstraat 92. The business spaces consist of one tall storey and are the result of gradual extensions of the soap factory.
The cornice-topped facade at the front is composed of a plastered first storey and a second storey of fair-faced brickwork. In the middle above the profiled cornice a roof dormer has been placed with segment-arch shaped drip mould and one-pane windows.
The facade, divided into three bays, has in the first storey three profiled round arches, which rest on the capitals of the pilaster-shaped piers. The middle sill is strongly emphasised and forms a horizontal accent across the entire width of the facade. In the right bay stands a three-pane panelled door under a one-pane fanlight. Two-pane windows with one-pane fanlights are located in the other bays. Below the windows are recessed panels. A plastered cordon moulding marks the transition from the first to the second storey. In the second storey are three closed windows with a one-pane fanlight in the sash windows.
A hardstone step forms the transition from street to front facade. Directly on the right, next to the front door, stands a hardstone bollard, provided with a decorative motif on the tapering shaft.
In the sober interior a corridor is incorporated on the right side, with across the remaining width of the facade, extending into the building Voorstraat 92, a rectangular office space.
