Inleiding
"Haverbrug", VERKEERSBRUG van het type boogbrug in de stijl van het Eclecticisme omstreeks 1872 over de Binnenwatersloot binnen het beschermd stadsgezicht van Delft, vermoedelijk naar ontwerp van C.J. de Bruyn Kops.
Brug behoort tot complex van twee vaste boogbruggen, die over de Binnenwatersloot en de Oude Delft liggen, daar waar deze grachten op elkaar aansluiten.
Omschrijving
Licht gebogen brug met gemetselde onderbouw met landhoofden, die aan de westzijde sterk in breedte toenemen naar de kaden. De onderbouw is op de hoeken afgewerkt met natuurstenen blokken. Het gemetselde tongewelf (gedrukte boog) van de doorvaartopening is afgewerkt met ijzeren, geklinknagelde fronten. Het deels concavevormige wegdek is met klinkers bestraat. De gietijzeren balustrade staat op een natuurstenen dekplaat en loopt ruim door langs de kaden. Aan de westzijde heeft de borstwering vier achthoekige, gietijzeren pijlers. Aan de oostzijde van het brugdek loopt een rechte balustrade, die verbonden is met de zuidelijke balustrade van de brug over de Oude Delft. De doorlopende onderregel en bovenregel van de balustrade worden verbonden door spijlen in doorlopend rondboogmotief, die afgewisseld worden door kleine tussenpijlers, die tot aan de handlijst doorgetrokken zijn.

Description
Slightly curved bridge with masonry substructure with abutments, which increase considerably in width towards the quays on the west side. The substructure is finished at the corners with natural stone blocks. The masonry barrel vault (depressed arch) of the navigation opening is finished with iron, riveted fronts. The partly concave roadway is paved with clinkers. The cast-iron balustrade stands on a natural stone coping and extends well along the quays. On the west side the parapet has four octagonal cast-iron pillars. On the east side of the bridge deck runs a straight balustrade, which is connected with the southern balustrade of the bridge over the Oude Delft. The continuous bottom rail and top rail of the balustrade are connected by balusters in a continuous round-arch motif, which are alternated by small intermediate pillars, which extend to the handrail.
