Inleiding
"Mauriciusbrug", VERKEERSBRUG van het type boogbrug in de stijl van het Eclecticisme omstreeks 1872 over de Oude Delft binnen het beschermd stadsgezicht van Delft, vermoedelijk naar ontwerp van C.J. de Bruyn Kops.
Brug behoort tot complex van twee vaste boogbruggen, die over de Binnenwatersloot en de Oude Delft liggen, daar waar deze grachten op elkaar aansluiten.
De brug is in de jaren 1999-2000 gerestaureerd waarbij een betonnen kern is aangebracht.
Omschrijving
Boogbrug met gemetselde onderbouw met forse landhoofden, die sterk in breedte toenemen naar de kaden. De onderbouw is op de hoeken afgewerkt met natuurstenen blokken. Het gemetselde tongewelf van de smalle doorvaartopening is afgewerkt met ijzeren, geklinknagelde fronten. Het concavevormige wegdek is met klinkers bestraat. De gietijzeren balustrade staat op een natuurstenen dekplaat en loopt ruim door langs de kaden. Aan de noordzijde heeft de borstwering achthoekige, gietijzeren pijlers. Aan de zuidzijde van het brugdek vormt de balustrade met vijf pijlers een eenheid met de oostelijke balustrade van de brug over de Binnenwatersloot. De doorlopende onderregel en bovenregel van de balustrade worden verbonden door spijlen in doorlopend rondboogmotief, die afgewisseld worden door kleine tussenpijlers, die tot aan de handlijst doorgetrokken zijn.

Description
Arch bridge with masonry substructure with substantial abutments, which increase considerably in width towards the quays. The substructure is finished at the corners with natural stone blocks. The masonry barrel vault of the narrow navigation opening is finished with iron, riveted fronts. The concave roadway is paved with clinkers. The cast-iron balustrade stands on a natural stone coping and extends well along the quays. On the north side the parapet has octagonal cast-iron pillars. On the south side of the bridge deck the balustrade with five pillars forms a unit with the eastern balustrade of the bridge over the Binnenwatersloot. The continuous bottom rail and top rail of the balustrade are connected by balusters in a continuous round-arch motif, which are alternated by small intermediate pillars, which extend to the handrail.
