Inleiding
Boerderij met aan de westgevel aangebouwde kruiskapel als onderdeel van het complex kapel van Genooi. De boerderij dateert uit omstreeks 1846 en werd omstreeks dat jaar aan de kopgevel (westzijde) voorzien van de kruiskapel. De boerderij is gebouwd in de stijl van het Traditionalisme. De kruiskapel toont invloed van Neogotiek.
Omschrijving
De boerderij van het langgeveltype telt een bouwlaag onder een zadeldak met Hollandse pannen. In het gedeelte van de boerderij aan de westzijde is het woonhuis ondergebracht. Het bedrijfsgedeelte ligt aan de oostzijde. Het toegepaste bouwmateriaal is baksteen in kruisverband. Rechthoekige houten vensters met rondboogvormige bovenlichten. Rechthoekige houten deuren en poorten. Natuurstenen dorpelstenen. Zadeldak met oude hollandse pannen. Gecementeerde plint. Rechthoekige dubbele voordeur met rondboogvormig bovenlicht met aan weerszijden een venster met rondboogvormig bovenlicht. In het rechtergeveldeel een klein poortje en een venster van omstreeks 1970. Onder de dakrand kleine blinde segmentboogvormige venstertjes. In de voorgevel van het bedrijfsgedeelte een dubbele rechthoekige houten deur met rondboogvormig bovenlicht. Aan weerszijden van deze deur segmentboogvormige betonnen stalvensters van omstreeks 1970. Diverse verbouwingssporen. In een van de dichtgezette rondbogen een gevelsteen met het jaartal 1846 RCK VENLO. De kopgevel aan de oostzijde van de boerderij is omstreeks 1970 deels vernieuwd. In de eerste bouwlaag een houten poortje met aan weerszijden een stalvenster. In de topgevel twee rechthoekige houten luiken met daarboven een halfronde nis. In de achtergevel in het woonhuisgedeelte twee vierkante vensters met houten kozijnen. Onder dakrand halfronde nissen met imitatievensters. In het bedrijfsgedeelte een grote houten schuifpoort; in het rechtergeveldeel enkele kleine segmentboogvormige houten deurtjes; segmentboogvormige betonnen stalvensters van omstreeks 1970. De structuur van het interieur is in tact. Het keldergedeelte aan de zijde van de aangebouwde kruiskapel is vermeldenswaardig. In deze kelder een vloer met hardsteen tegels met in een van de vloertegels een monogram. In deze kelder is ook de halfronde wand van het absisgedeelte van de kapel zichtbaar.
De KRUISKAPEL is tegen de kopgevel aan de westzijde van de boerderij gebouwd. De halfronde kapel heeft een gecementeerde plint en een opstand in baksteen met metselwerk in kruisverband. Segmentboogvormige dubbele houten toegangsdeur met smeedijzeren beslag. Aan de bovenzijde van de deur een natuurstenen gevelsteen uit 1846. De dubbele deur heeft een spitsboogvormig bovenlicht met glas-in-lood. Aan weerszijden van de toegang twee spitsboogvormige vensters met glas-in-lood. Vensters en bovenlicht met natuurstenen dorpels. De kapel is aan de voorzijde deels voorzien van een bordes met treden. De kapel heeft een kegelvormig dak met leien. In de kopgevel van de boerderij aan weerszijden van de kapelaanbouw een rondboogvormige deuropening met aan de bovenzijde een halfronde nis. Aan beide zijden een uitgekraagde topgevel Van het INTERIEUR is onder meer het volgende van belang. De halfronde kapelruimte heeft een vloer met hardstenen tegels. Het houten barok altaar dateert uit de 17de eeuw en is afkomstig uit de oudere hoofdkapel. Het houten altaar staat op een roze marmer tafel. Twee glas-in-lood ramen dateren uit 1937: glazenier Max Icks en Zonen uit Venlo. Twee glas-in-lood ramen dateren uit 1920 van Atelier C. van Straaten en Boom te Utrecht. De kapelwand heeft een lambrisering in oranje geglazuurde tegeltjes met een zwarte bies.
Waardering
De boerderij met aangebouwde kruiskapel bezit als onderdeel van het complex kapel van Genooi cultuurhistoriche waarde vanwege het belang voor de religieuze geschiedenis van Nederland met name voor de geschiedenis van bedevaartplaatsen. De architectuurhistorische waarden worden bepaald door het belang van met name de kruiskapel voor de typologische ontwikkeling binnen de architectuur van religieuze complexen in Nederland. De boerderij met aangebouwde kruiskapel bezit als onderdeel van het complex kapel van Genooi ensemblewaarden door de markante en beeldbepalende situering in dit deel van Venlo aan de rand van de bebouwde kom. De boerderij met aangebouwde kruiskapel zijn tenslotte van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische en architectuurhistorische zeldzaamheid en de gaafheid met name van de kruiskapel.

Natural stone sill stones. Saddle roof with old Dutch tiles. Cemented plinth. Rectangular double front door with semicircular fanlight with on either side a window with semicircular fanlight. In the right gable section a small gate and a window from around 1970. Under the roof edge small blind segmental arch-shaped little windows. In the front facade of the business section a double rectangular wooden door with semicircular fanlight. On either side of this door segmental arch-shaped concrete stable windows from around 1970. Various alteration marks. In one of the blocked arches a facade stone with the year 1846 RCK VENLO. The head gable on the east side of the farmstead was partly renewed around 1970. In the first storey a wooden gate with on either side a stable window. In the gable roof two rectangular wooden shutters with above them a semicircular niche. In the rear facade in the dwelling house section two square windows with wooden frames. Under roof edge semicircular niches with imitation windows. In the business section a large wooden sliding gate; in the right gable section several small segmental arch-shaped wooden doors; segmental arch-shaped concrete stable windows from around 1970. The structure of the interior is intact. The cellar section on the side of the built-on cross chapel is noteworthy. In this cellar a floor with hard stone tiles with in one of the floor tiles a monogram. In this cellar is also visible the semicircular wall of the apse section of the chapel.
The CROSS CHAPEL is built against the head gable on the west side of the farmstead. The semicircular chapel has a cemented plinth and a facing in brick with masonry in stretcher bond. Segmental arch-shaped double wooden entrance door with wrought iron fittings. At the top of the door a natural stone facade stone from 1846. The double door has a pointed arch-shaped fanlight with leaded glass. On either side of the entrance two pointed arch-shaped windows with leaded glass. Windows and fanlight with natural stone sills. The chapel is on the front side partly provided with a platform with steps. The chapel has a conical roof with slate. In the head gable of the farmstead on either side of the chapel attachment a semicircular arched doorway with at the top a semicircular niche. On both sides a projecting gable roof. From the INTERIOR the following is among other things important. The semicircular chapel space has a floor with hard stone tiles. The wooden baroque altar dates from the 17th century and comes from the older main chapel. The wooden altar stands on a pink marble table. Two leaded glass windows date from 1937: glazier Max Icks and Sons from Venlo. Two leaded glass windows date from 1920 from Atelier C. van Straaten and Boom in Utrecht. The chapel wall has wainscoting in orange glazed tiles with a black border.
