Inleiding
TOREN in een Historiserende stijl gebouwd, uit omstreeks het midden van de negentiende eeuw, gebouwd tegen een oudere boerderij die de naam 'Vreeburg' droeg. De toren, die een herenkamer bevat, is gebouwd door de toenmalige eigenaren van het naastgelegen Duinrell, wellicht als een soort folly in de vorm van een donjon.
N.B. In 1943 is de oude boerderij afgebroken en op de fundamenten is een nieuw huis gebouwd.
Omschrijving
Onderkelderde zware toren op vierkante grondslag met twee bouwlagen onder een tentdak met windvaan op de nok. De gepleisterde muren zijn aan de bovenzijde voorzien van een iets overkragende rand. Aan de zijgevel leidt een bordestrap met ijzeren leuning naar de deur. In de voorgevel boven het keldervenster, twee vensters met bovenlicht. Achter de toren een plat afgedekte lagere aanbouw met kleine vensterpartij. Inwendig is de plattegrond bewaard gebleven met op de bel etage een betegelde herenkamer met monumentale schouw en eiken balkenzoldering. In de schouw 17e en 18e eeuwse tegels, op de wanden 19e eeuwse tegels en boven de schouw een tegeltableau waarop het huis Duinrell staat afgebeeld. Gehoute paneeldeuren, schoorsteenmantel en bedsteewand.
Waardering
De toren uit het midden van de 19de eeuw is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde wegens de historisch-functionele samenhang met de naastgelegen buitenplaats Duinrell en de bijzondere typologie. De toren met oorspronkelijke herenkamer is nagenoeg gaaf in hoofdvorm, materiaalgebruik en detaillering.

Introduction
TOWER built in a Historicist style, from around the middle of the nineteenth century, built against an older farmhouse that bore the name 'Vreeburg'. The tower, which contains a hall, was built by the then owners of the adjacent Duinrell, perhaps as a sort of folly in the form of a donjon.
N.B. In 1943 the old farmhouse was demolished and a new house was built on its foundations.
Description
Undercrofted heavy tower on a square footprint with two storeys under a hipped roof with a weather vane on the ridge. The plastered walls are provided at the top with a slightly overhanging edge. On the side facade a flight of steps with an iron handrail leads to the door. In the front facade above the cellar window, two windows with fanlights. Behind the tower a flat-topped lower annexe with small window section. Internally the floor plan is preserved with on the principal floor a tiled hall with monumental fireplace and oak beam ceiling. In the fireplace 17th and 18th century tiles, on the walls 19th century tiles and above the fireplace a tile tableau on which the house Duinrell is depicted. Carved panel doors, chimney-piece and box bed wall.
Valuation
The tower from the middle of the 19th century is of general importance because of its cultural and architectural-historical value on account of the historically-functional connection with the adjacent country estate Duinrell and the special typology. The tower with original hall is virtually intact in its main form, use of materials and detailing.
