De (voormalige) GARAGE behorend bij de historische buitenplaats Voorlinden, is gebouwd omstreeks 1912 in Engelse Cottagestijl naar ontwerp van de architect R.J. Johnston. Direct na de Tweede Wereldoorlog is het pand verbouwd tot woonhuis met behoud van enkele voor de bouwstijl kenmerkende karakteristieken. Het pand staat vrijwel ter plaatse van een van de vroegere bouwhuizen van het oude huis Voorlinden. Naast het huis een schuurtje waarvan het muurwerk uit de achttiende eeuws dateert. De westgevel grenst aan een plein met rotonde en een cirkelvormig perk met bomen.
Omschrijving
Eénlaags garagegebouw onder afgeknot schilddak met uitzwenkende dakvoet en rode leipannen. Aan de achterzijde (zuid) een aangebouwde dubbele garage onder plat dak. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in rode baksteen en gedeeltelijke aangesmeerd met ruw pleisterwerk. Recht gesloten dubbele tweeruits vensters. Voorgevel (noord) met entree in laag risaliet onder zadeldak. Op de nokhoeken van het dak vier schoorstenen.

(Voormalige) uit 1912 daterende garage van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur-, architectuurhistorische en ensemblewaarde als historisch functioneel en ruimtelijke onderdeel van de buitenplaats Voorlinden en vanwege de Engelse Cottagestijl.

The (former) GARAGE belonging to the historical country estate Voorlinden, was built around 1912 in English Cottage style to the design of architect R.J. Johnston. Immediately after the Second World War the building was converted to a dwelling with retention of some characteristics typical of the building style. The building stands virtually on the site of one of the former outbuildings of the old house Voorlinden. Beside the house a small shed with masonry dating from the eighteenth century. The west facade borders on a square with a roundabout and a circular planting bed with trees.
Description
Single-storey garage building under truncated hipped roof with projecting eaves and red slate tiles. On the rear side (south) an adjoining double garage under flat roof. The facades are constructed in red brick and partially rendered with rough plasterwork. Straight-closed double two-pane windows. Front facade (north) with entrance in low risalit under saddle roof. On the ridge corners of the roof four chimneys.
