Inleiding complexonderdeel 5
(Voormalige) dubbele DIENSTWONING behorend bij de historische buitenplaats Voorlinden, is gebouwd in 1912 in Engelse Cottagestijl naar ontwerp van de architect R.J. Johnston. Het pand staat in de nabijheid van de lokatie waar het oude huis Voorlinden met de bouwhuizen heeft gestaan. De voorgevel grenst aan een voorplein met rotonde en een cirkelvormig perk met bomen.
Omschrijving
Gespiegelde dubbele dienstwoning van één bouwlaag onder overstekend schild-zadeldak met uitzwenkende dakvoet en rode leipannen. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in rode baksteen en gedeeltelijke aangesmeerd met ruw pleisterwerk. Enkele en samengestelde vensters met roedenverdeling.
Symmetrische voorgevel (noord) met hoog opgaand middenrisaliet over twee bouwlagen onder schilddak. In de risaliet de entreepartijen onder twee luifels aan trekstangen. Paneeldeuren met getralied ruitje en 3-ruits zijlicht. Kopgevels (oost en west) met forse deels buitenwerks opgemetselde schoorstenen.
Symmetrische achtergevel (zuid) met hoog opgaand middenrisaliet waarin deuren en vensters. In de terugliggende geveldelen dubbele glasdeuren naar de tuin.
Op de nok van het schilddak een kleine schoorsteen. Vier plat afgedekte dakkapellen, deels met steekkapjes.
Waardering
(Voormalige), uit 1912 daterende dubbele dienstwoning van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur-, architectuurhistorische en ensemblewaarde als historisch functioneel en ruimtelijke onderdeel van de buitenplaats Voorlinden en vanwege de Engelse Cottagestijl.
Het pand is nagenoeg gaaf in hoofdvorm, materiaalgebruik en detaillering, zowel uit- als inwendig.

The building stands in the vicinity of the location where the old house Voorlinden with the farm buildings once stood. The front façade borders a forecourt with a rotunda and a circular planted bed with trees.
Description
Mirrored double service dwelling of one storey under overhanging hip-saddle roof with flared eaves and red slate tiles. The façades are constructed in red brick and partly finished with rough render. Single and composite windows with glazing bars.
Symmetrical front façade (north) with high projecting central risalit over two storeys under hipped roof. In the risalit the entrance areas under two canopies on tie rods. Panelled doors with barred pane and 3-pane side light. Gable walls (east and west) with substantial partly externally built chimney stacks.
Symmetrical rear façade (south) with high projecting central risalit containing doors and windows. In the recessed façade sections double glass doors to the garden.
On the roof ridge a small chimney. Four flat-topped roof dormers, partly with steeplehead roofs.
Valuation
(Former) double service dwelling dating from 1912 of general importance because of cultural, architectural-historical and ensemble value as a historical functional and spatial component of the country estate Voorlinden and because of the English Cottage style.
The building is virtually intact in main form, material use and detailing, both exterior and interior.
