Inleiding
Voormalig BADHUIS uit 1921, deel uitmakend van het ziekenhuiscomplex Duin en Bosch. Het badhuis is gesitueerd aan de oostzijde van de naar het hoofdgebouw leidende Duinenboschweg. Van oorsprong was het badhuis zowel bedoeld voor de bewoners van Duin en Bosch als voor de plaatselijke bevolking. Tegenwoordig doet het inwendig verbouwde pand dienst als magazijn.
N.B. De naderhand tegen de achtergevel geplaatste houten berging maakt geen deel uit van de bescherming.
Omschrijving
Op vierkant grondplan gebouwd badhuis van één bouwlaag onder een met rode verbeterde Hollandse pannen gedekt schilddak zonder achterschild en met de noklijn haaks op de weg. Het onderste gedeelte van de buitengevels is opgetrokken in rode machinale waalsteen in halfsteens verband met snijvoeg. Daarboven zijn de gevels gepleisterd en witgesausd. De vensters worden ontlast door een staande rollaag van contrasterende rode baksteen. De lekdorpels zijn samengesteld uit schuin gemetselde rode bakstenen. Bovenaan worden de voor- en zijgevels afgesloten door een op geprofileerde klosjes rustende lijstgoot waaronder een rollaag van rode baksteen. De symmetrische voorgevel (W) heeft in het midden een door smalle zesruits zijlichten geflankeerde paneeldeur waarin een zesruits raam. Links en rechts in de gevel bevinden zich twee gekoppelde zesruits vensters. Boven de ingang wordt de lijstgoot onderbroken voor een lage dakopbouw voorzien van twee kleine gekoppelde vierruits vensters waarboven een lijstgoot als genoemd en een in het voorschild snijdend schilddakje gedekt met rode verbeterde Hollandse pannen. In het midden van de linkerzijgevel (N) bevindt zich een klein vierruits valraam waarnaast links een regenpijp. Halverwege het linkerzijschild staat een kleine dakkapel voorzien van een plat dak en twee vierruits ramen waarin geel kathedraalglas. De rechterzijgevel (Z) is spiegelbeeldig aan de linkerzijgevel. De als puntgevel uitgevoerde achtergevel (O) is blind en bovenin voorzien van vakwerk.
Waardering
Het voormalige badhuis uit 1921 is van algemeen belang als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het ziekenhuiscomplex Duin en Bosch. Vanwege de typologische waarde.

Introduction
Former BATHHOUSE from 1921, forming part of the Duin en Bosch hospital complex. The bathhouse is situated on the east side of the Duinenboschweg leading to the main building. Originally the bathhouse was intended both for the residents of Duin en Bosch and for the local population. Today the internally renovated building serves as a storage facility.
N.B. The wooden shed subsequently placed against the rear facade does not form part of the protection.
Description
Bathhouse constructed on a square ground plan, of one storey beneath a hipped roof covered with red improved Dutch tiles without a rear slope and with the ridge line perpendicular to the road. The lower section of the outer facades is built in red machine-made headers in half-brick bond with struck joints. Above this the facades are plastered and whitewashed. The windows are relieved by a tall soldier course of contrasting red brickwork. The sills are composed of red bricks laid at an angle. At the top the front and side facades are finished with a cornice gutter resting on moulded pegs beneath which is a soldier course of red bricks. The symmetrical front facade (W) has in the centre a panel door flanked by narrow six-pane side windows containing a six-pane window. On the left and right in the facade are two coupled six-pane windows. Above the entrance the cornice gutter is interrupted by a low roof structure provided with two small coupled four-pane windows above which is a cornice gutter as mentioned and a small hipped roof cutting into the roof front, covered with red improved Dutch tiles. In the centre of the left side facade (N) is a small four-pane drop window next to which on the left is a rainpipe. Halfway along the left roof panel stands a small roof dormer provided with a flat roof and two four-pane windows containing yellow cathedral glass. The right side facade (S) is a mirror image of the left side facade. The rear facade (E), executed as a pointed gable, is blank and at the top provided with timber framing.
Valuation
The former bathhouse from 1921 is of general importance as a historical-functional component of the Duin en Bosch hospital complex. By reason of its typological value.
