Omschrijving
EVENEMENTENHAL "Zonnehal" uit 1938, mogelijk gebouwd naar ontwerp van architect J.H. Mulder jr. (1888-1960) van het Amsterdams Koöperatieve Architecten Bureau. De geheel in hout opgetrokken hal heeft een rechthoekig grondplan met een omvang van acht traveeën. De hoofdvorm van de hal komt voort uit de inwendige houtconstructie: zeven hoge vakwerk-kniespanten houden het grondoppervlak van de hal vrij van ondersteuningen. De kniespanten worden gestut door schuin naar buiten geplaatste muurstijlen. De muurstijlen zijn voorzien van kepen ten behoeve van de gepotdekselde, eveneens schuine wanden. In de houten wanden zijn enkele bandvensters met meerruits ramen uitgespaard. De topgevels aan de korte zijden hebben een verticale beschieting. In de topgevel aan de voorzijde is een groot bovenlicht vormgegeven als ware het een opkomende zon (halve cirkel) met zonnestralen in de vorm van taps toelopende houten stijlen. De symmetrisch ingedeelde voor- en achtergevel hebben elk drie grote dubbele deuren (de deur in het midden van de achtergevel is dichtgezet). Het zadeldak watert af via bakgoten. Op zes plaatsen zijn de dakschilden enigszins opgewipt ten behoeve van lichtkappen.

EVENTS HALL "Zonnehal" from 1938, possibly built to the design of architect J.H. Mulder jr. (1888-1960) of the Amsterdam Cooperative Architects Bureau. The hall, constructed entirely of wood, has a rectangular floor plan with a span of eight bays. The principal form of the hall results from the internal timber construction: seven tall timber-frame knee braces keep the floor area of the hall free of supports. The knee braces are braced by inclined outer wall posts. The wall posts are provided with pegs for the rendered, equally inclined walls. A few band windows with multi-light windows are cut out in the wooden walls. The gable ends at the short sides have vertical boarding. In the gable end at the front a large fanlight is designed as if it were a rising sun (semicircle) with sun rays in the form of tapering timber posts. The symmetrically arranged front and rear façades each have three large double doors (the door in the centre of the rear façade is closed). The saddle roof drains via gutters. At six locations the roof sections are slightly raised for the benefit of roof lights.
