Omschrijving onderdeel 8: WATERTOREN.
De WATERTOREN uit 1912 bevindt zich op een kunstmatig opgeworpen heuvel ten noorden van de tuinmanswoning op het terrein van de buitenplaats Oud Groevenbeek.
De watertoren is in kruisverband gemetseld en heeft een rechthoekig grondvlak met een met zwerfkeien beklede plint. Op één van de hoeken bevindt zich een ronde hoektoren. De watertoren heeft twee bouwlagen en heeft een kanteelbeëindiging. De verdiepingscheiding heeft een natuurstenen cordonlijst.
De ingangsgevel heeft een rondboogvormige deuropening met een dubbele deur. Daarboven bevinden zich twee getoogde achtruits ramen. De linker zijgevel heeft twee rondboogvormige achtruits ramen op de begane grond en twee getoogde achtruits ramen op de verdieping. De watertoren was bedoeld voor de drinkwatervoorziening van het huis, de tuinmanswoning en de boerderij. Ook de tuin en de kassen werden met het water besproeid. De toren werd gebouwd op een speciaal daarvoor ontworpen heuvel. Over deze heuvel werden een wandelpad en met zwerfkeien en vulkaansteen gedecoreerde trappartijen aangelegd. Naar verluidt bevond zich onder de toren oorspronkelijk een klein gasfabriekje dat moerasgas ophaalde om daarmee de kassen te verwarmen en de gaslampen op het terrein te voeden. Rond 1950 raakte de toren buiten gebruik en sinds 1988 zijn de kelders in gebruik als vleermuizenverblijf.

The WATER TOWER from 1912 is situated on an artificially constructed mound to the north of the gardener's cottage on the grounds of the country estate Oud Groevenbeek.
The water tower is built in Flemish bond and has a rectangular floor plan with a plinth clad in glacial boulders. On one of the corners is a round corner tower. The water tower has two storeys and has crenellations. The storey separation features a natural stone cordon moulding.
The entrance facade has a rounded arch-shaped door opening with a double door. Above this are two tall arched leaded-glass windows. The left side facade has two rounded arch-shaped leaded-glass windows on the ground floor and two tall arched leaded-glass windows on the upper storey. The rear facade has the same layout with the tower projection added on the left side. The right side facade facing the manor house also has this layout. The tower projection has some window slits that light the stair tower. The rectangular section and the round tower section are closed off at the top with a projecting round arch frieze and crenellations. The water tower was intended for the drinking water supply of the house, the gardener's cottage and the farm. The garden and greenhouses were also irrigated with the water. The tower was built on a specially designed mound. A walking path and stepped arrangements decorated with glacial boulders and volcanic stone were laid out over this mound. According to tradition, originally a small gas works was located beneath the tower which extracted marsh gas to heat the greenhouses and fuel the gas lamps on the grounds. Around 1950 the tower fell into disuse and since 1988 the cellars have been in use as a bat roost.
