MANSCHAPPENGEBOUW B-2, deel uitmakend van het KAZERNECOMPLEX het BURMANIAKAMP. Gebouw, gelegen aan de noordzijde van de ingangspartij, dat met gebouw B-3 een poortachtige entree van het complex vormt. Gebouwd op een T-vormige plattegrond.
Op een iets terugwijkend trasraam van enkele metsellagen zijn massieve, 55 cm dikke muren opgetrokken van gemêleerde roodbruine baksteen. Na de ruim een meter hoge borstwering volgen de vensterpartijen, gevat in een vakwerk-motief van kunststeen waarin het metselwerk is verlevendigd door uitspringende koppen van gesinterde baksteen in verschillende patronen. Het daglicht valt binnen door hooggeplaatste vensterpartijen die uit twee of drie twaalfruitsramen of uit twee zesruitsramen zijn samengesteld. Deels kunnen ze als tuimelraam worden geopend. In de vooruitspringende partij aan de zijkant is onder de kap de tot een portiek gevormde ingangspartij met dubbele deur gelegen. De hoeken bezitten versieringen van kunststenen 'stijlen'; de bakgoten worden hier ondersteund door console-achtige uitkragingen. Het T-vormige gebouw bezit een samengesteld zadeldak op topgevels. De geveltoppen zijn van beitelingen voorzien en zijn geopend met rondlichten met decoratieve neggen. Het dak is gedekt met gemêleerde, roodbruin geglazuurde, verbeterde Hollandse golfpannen.
Het gebouw heeft een indeling van een middengangetje met daar omheen gegroepeerd slaapvertrekken van wisselende vorm en afmeting. De binnendeuren naar de vertrekken en sanitaire voorzieningen bezitten zware en meervoudig geprofileerde, houten architraven. Over de eerste bouwlaag is een geheel gesloten zoldervloer van beton gelegd ter bescherming tegen inslaande granaten. De daardoor nauwelijks toegankelijke zolder heeft een geheel houten kapconstructie.
WAARDERING
Het manschappengebouw B-2 is van groot algemeen historisch, stedenbouwkundig en architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege
- de tastbare en nauwelijks verstoorde geschiedenis van de bezettingstijd 1940-'45 die het gebouw in samenhang met de andere gebouwen van het complex uitdrukt;
- de kenmerkende en nagenoeg gave architectuur, onder meer met vakwerkwanden, die overeenkomt met de architectuur van de Noordduitse laagvlakte;
- de levendige ruimtelijke situering en geleding van het manschappengebouw dat op camouflage-gronden als element in een tuinwijkje in een groene beplanting is geplaatst.

ENLISTED MEN'S BUILDING B-2, forming part of the BARRACKS COMPLEX the BURMANIAKAMP. Building, located on the north side of the entrance section, which together with building B-3 forms a gate-like entrance to the complex. Built on a T-shaped ground plan.
On a slightly recessed ashlar frame of several courses of brickwork are erected massive walls, 55 cm thick, of mottled reddish-brown brick. After the breast wall more than one metre high follow the window sections, set within a half-timber motif of artificial stone in which the brickwork is enlivened by projecting heads of sintered brick in various patterns. Daylight enters through high-placed window sections consisting of two or three twelve-pane windows or of two six-pane windows. In part they can be opened as tilting windows. In the projecting section at the side is under the roof the entrance section formed into a portico with double door. The corners have decorations of artificial stone 'pilasters'; the rainwater gutters are here supported by console-like cantilevers. The T-shaped building has a composite gabled roof on top gables. The gable heads are provided with mouldings and are opened with round windows with decorative glazing bars. The roof is covered with mottled, reddish-brown glazed, improved Dutch corrugated tiles.
The building has a layout of a central corridor with sleeping quarters of varying shape and size grouped around it. A completely closed concrete floor has been laid over the first storey for protection against shells. The scarcely accessible attic thereby has a completely wooden roof truss structure.
VALUATION
The enlisted men's building B-2 is of great general historical, urban planning and architectural historical importance because of
- the tangible and scarcely disturbed history of the occupation period 1940-'45 which the building expresses in conjunction with the other buildings of the complex;
- the characteristic and nearly intact architecture, among other things with timber-framed walls, which corresponds with the architecture of the North German lowlands;
- the lively spatial situation and articulation of the enlisted men's building which on camouflage grounds as an element in a garden village in green planting is situated.
