Inleiding
De aan de Waalbandijk gelegen, monumentale, witgepleisterde T-BOERDERIJ werd gebouwd in het derde kwart van de 19de eeuw. In de linkerzijgevel is een steen aangebracht met de naam 'VREDENBURG'. Het pand is gelegen op korte afstand van de Waalbandijk met de linkerzijgevel daaraan evenwijdig en met de voorgevel gericht op de Noord-Zuidweg. De dwarsligging van het voorhuis t.o.v. de dijk is opvallend, wellicht naar analogie van het nabij gelegen Huis Leeuwen. Het pand is gelegen op het terrein van de voormalige tuin van Huis Leeuwen. Aan de voorzijde van de boerderij en links opzij bevindt zich een siertuin met solitairbomen; rechts opzij en aan de voorzijde begrensd door een haag, links opzij door een wetering aan de voet van de dijk. De oprit vanaf de dijk ligt aan de achterzijde.
Omschrijving
De boerderij is gebouwd op een T-vormig grondplan. Het dwarsgeplaatste voorhuis staat haaks op de Waalbandijk en steekt aan de rechterzijde een weinig uit t.o.v. het achterhuis. Het voorhuis telt één bouwlaag en een zolder onder een met riet gedekt, overstekend schilddak met gesmoorde nokvorsten. Twee gepleisterde schoorstenen, met windvaantje, staan op de nok. Het achterhuis telt één bouwlaag onder een aan de achterzijde overstekend wolfdak, dat aan de bovenzijde met riet, en aan de onderzijde met gesmoorde Muldenpannen is gedekt. Gesmoorde rietvorsten op de nok. Aan beide zijden is het dak ter hoogte van het woongedeelte iets opgelicht.
De gevels zijn opgetrokken in baksteen, gepleisterd en witgeschilderd. Rondom loopt een grijze plint. Het pleisterwerk van het voorhuis is voorzien van schijnvoegen in blokverband. Ter decoratie zijn de vensteromlijstingen van het voorhuis uitgevoerd in geprofileerde baksteen en stuclijsten met kuifstukken.
De VOORGEVEL is symmetrisch ingedeeld en vijf vensterassen breed. Op de begane grond, in het midden, bevindt zich een inpandig portiek, waarin een brede paneeldeur, met gietijzeren rooster met Jugendstilmotieven, en een bovenlicht, voorzien van glas-in-lood. Het portiek bezit een korfboogvormige omlijsting van geprofileerde baksteen en een geprofileerde stuclijst met bekronend neo-barok kuifstuk. Aan weerszijden van het portiek een tweetal T-vormig ingedeelde vensters met glas-in-lood bovenlicht en eenzelfde omlijsting, met voetstukken in de plint. Op de lage verdieping bevinden zich een vijftal tweeruits vensters met gesneden lijsten in korfboogvormige togen met rechthoekige, vlakke omlijsting. Het lijstwerk is crème-kleurig met zwarte accenten. In de borstwering is onder elk venster een crème-kleurig, gebouchardeerd paneel aangebracht. In de LINKERZIJGEVEL van het voorhuis bevinden zich op de begane grond twee T-vormig ingedeelde venster, identiek aan de vensters in de voorgevel. Daarboven, in een zwartomrand blokveld, staat de naam 'Vredenburg' vermeld. De linkerzijgevel van het achterhuis bevat in het gevelvlak onder de opgelichte kap gewijzigde vensters en deur, en een kleine serre. In het stalgedeelte bevinden zich vijf betonnen stalramen. Het linkerdeel van het gevelvlak springt in. In de zo ontstane oksel is een rondboogvormige deur geplaatst.
Boven de ACHTERGEVEL heeft het rieten dak een fors overstek, rustend op de inspringende zijmuren.
De RECHTERZIJGEVEL van het voorhuis is blind. De rechterzijgevel van het stalgedeelte bevat 4-ruits vensters en een opgeklampte deur met bovenlicht.
Het INTERIEUR bevat waardevolle onderdelen. In het voorhuis zijn fraaie, decoratieve stucplafonds aanwezig en muurschilderingen met jachttaferelen.

The monumental, whitewashed T-FARMHOUSE located on the Waalbandijk was built in the third quarter of the 19th century. In the left side gable a stone has been placed with the name 'VREDENBURG'. The building is situated at a short distance from the Waalbandijk with the left side gable parallel to it and with the front facade facing the Noord-Zuidweg. The transverse position of the front house in relation to the dike is striking, possibly by analogy with the nearby Huis Leeuwen. The building is situated on the grounds of the former garden of Huis Leeuwen. On the front of the farmhouse and on the left side there is an ornamental garden with specimen trees; on the right side and front bounded by a hedge, on the left side by a drainage ditch at the foot of the dike. The driveway from the dike is located at the rear.
Description
The farmhouse is built on a T-shaped ground plan. The transversely positioned front house stands at right angles to the Waalbandijk and projects slightly on the right side in relation to the rear house. The front house has one storey and an attic under a reed-thatched, overhanging hipped roof with ridge hips. Two plastered chimneys, with weathervane, stand on the ridge. The rear house has one storey under a half-hipped roof overhanging on the rear side, which is thatched with reed on the upper side and covered with ridged Dutch pans on the underside. Ridged thatch ridges on the ridge. On both sides the roof is slightly raised at the level of the residential section.
The facades are constructed in brick, plastered and painted white. A grey plinth runs all around. The plasterwork of the front house is provided with relief joints in banded brickwork. For decoration the window surrounds of the front house are executed in moulded brick and stucco bands with cresting ornaments.
The FRONT FACADE is symmetrically arranged and five window bays wide. On the ground floor, in the centre, there is an internal portico, in which a wide panel door with cast-iron grating with Art Nouveau motifs and a fanlight, furnished with leaded glass. The portico has a basket arch-shaped surround of moulded brick and a moulded stucco band with cresting neo-baroque ornament. On either side of the portico a pair of T-shaped arranged windows with leaded glass fanlight and the same surround, with pedestals in the plinth. On the low storey there are five two-light windows with carved bands in basket arch-shaped arches with rectangular, flat surround. The woodwork is cream-coloured with black accents. In the breast parapet below each window a cream-coloured, tooled panel is placed. In the LEFT SIDE GABLE of the front house there are two T-shaped arranged windows on the ground floor, identical to the windows in the front facade. Above, in a black-bordered block field, the name 'Vredenburg' is indicated. The left side gable of the rear house contains modified windows and door in the gable plane beneath the raised roof, and a small conservatory. In the stable section there are five concrete stable windows. The left part of the gable plane is stepped inward. In the resulting corner a round arch-shaped door is placed.
Above the REAR FACADE the thatched roof has a substantial overhang, resting on the stepped-in side walls.
The RIGHT SIDE GABLE of the front house is blank. The right side gable of the stable section contains 4-light windows and a clamped door with fanlight.
The INTERIOR contains valuable components. In the front house fine, decorative stucco ceilings are present and wall paintings with hunting scenes.
