Omschrijving
Omschrijving onderdeel 15: MOLEN (Groenendaal).
Op de hoek van de Molenlaan en de Van Merlenvaart gelegen windmolen. De kort na 1776 gebouwde kleine houten stellingmolen is geplaatst op een vierkante stenen onderbouw en voorzien van een dubbele stelling. De molen maalde het water door middel van een vijzel naar het hoger gelegen Groenendaal om zo in de zomer de vijvers en waterlopen van voldoende water te voorzien. In 1989 is de molen ingrijpend gerenoveerd en sinds 1993 weer maalvaardig.
Waardering
De molen is van belang:
- als functioneel, maar relatief minder vaak voorkomend onderdeel van de buitenplaats;
- vanwege de ermee verbonden geschiedenis van monumenten van bedrijf en techniek (stoommachine);
- vanwege zijn beeldbepalende en schilderachtige ligging.

Description
Description of component 15: MILL (Groenendaal).
Windmill located on the corner of the Molenlaan and the Van Merlenvaart. The small wooden smock mill built shortly after 1776 is placed on a square stone base and equipped with a double stage. The mill ground water by means of a screw to the higher-lying Groenendaal so as to provide the ponds and watercourses with sufficient water in summer. In 1989 the mill underwent extensive renovation and since 1993 has been operational again.
Valuation
The mill is of significance:
- as a functional, but relatively less frequently occurring component of the country estate;
- because of the history connected with it of monuments of industry and technology (steam engine);
- because of its striking and picturesque location.
