Omschrijving onderdeel 4: ORANJERIE MET BEELDEN behorende tot de historische buitenplaats Broekhuizen.
In de noordoosthoek van het park gesitueerd langgerekt gebouw (1794-1798), waarvan de afwerking en de proporties zijn afgestemd op de aanblik aan de voorzijde waar een kunstmatige heuvel tegen het gebouw is opgeworpen tot de vloerhoogte van de eerste verdieping. Het pand is opgetrokken in neoclassicistische stijl met Lodewijk XVI kenmerken en vermoedelijk naar ontwerp van architect B.W.H. Ziesenis.
Voorgevel met midden- en zijrisalieten in gebosseerd pleisterwerk van grote blokken (rustica). De velden tussen de risalieten zijn in zogeheten grotwerk uitgevoerd, pleisterwerk dat het ruwe werk van een grotwand imiteert. De zijrisalieten zijn voorzien van rondboognissen, waarin beelden op sokkels. Zij stellen Venus en Pan voor en zijn tussen 1700 en 1720 gemaakt door Pieter van Baurscheidt de Oude (1669-1728). Zijn monogram staat op het voetstuk van Venus. De middenrisaliet heeft een toegang, omlijst met twee Toscaanse zuilen en fronton, waarin een wijzerplaat. De toegang bestaat uit een dubbele meerruits deur met halfrond straalvormig bovenlicht.
Links en rechts van de middenrisaliet drie achtruits schuifvensters met hardstenen onderdorpel. Mezzanino voorzien van eenvoudige dubbele openslaande vensters en een afgeknot schilddak, gedekt met gesmoorde oud-Hollandse pannen. Bakstenen achtergevel, die het bestaan van de door de heuvel verborgen onderste verdieping onthult. Op de begane grond twee eenvoudige toegangsdeuren met bovenlicht, voorts empire-schuifvensters. Op de verdieping dezelfde vensters, ter hoogte van de mezzanino dubbele openslaande meerruits vensters. De oranjerie fungeert thans als kantoorruimte en is zowel van binnen als van buiten aangepast aan deze nieuwe functie.
Inwendig nog enkele oudere onderdelen zoals een (later ingebrachte) Lodewijk XV schoorsteenpartij, een uurwerk uit 1793. Tot de oorspronkelijke uitrusting van de oranjerie behoren vijf geschilderde behangsels, vervaardigd door W.J. Laqui, die tussen 1794 en 1798 zijn vervaardigd. Zij stellen scènes voor uit tragedies van Voltaire.

De ORANJERIE MET BEELDEN behorende tot de historische buitenplaats Broekhuizen is van algemeen belang:

Description of component 4: ORANGERY WITH SCULPTURES belonging to the historical country estate Broekhuizen.
Located in the northeastern corner of the park, an elongated building (1794-1798), whose finish and proportions are adapted to the appearance at the front where an artificial mound has been thrown against the building up to the floor level of the first storey. The building is constructed in neoclassical style with Louis XVI characteristics and presumably designed by architect B.W.H. Ziesenis.
Front façade with central and side risalits in rusticated plasterwork of large blocks (rustica). The fields between the risalits are executed in so-called grotesque work, plasterwork that imitates the rough work of a grotto wall. The side risalits are provided with round-arched niches, in which sculptures on plinths. They represent Venus and Pan and were made between 1700 and 1720 by Pieter van Baurscheidt the Elder (1669-1728). His monogram appears on the plinth of Venus. The central risalit has an entrance, framed with two Tuscan columns and pediment, in which a clock face. The entrance consists of a double multi-pane door with semi-circular radiating fanlight.
To the left and right of the central risalit three rear-pane sash windows with stone sills. Mezzanine provided with simple double casement windows and a truncated hipped roof, covered with weathered Old Dutch tiles. Brick rear façade, which reveals the existence of the lower storey hidden by the mound. On the ground floor two simple entrance doors with fanlight, furthermore Empire sash windows. On the storey the same windows, at the height of the mezzanine double casement multi-pane windows. The orangery currently functions as office space and has been adapted both inside and outside to this new function.
Internally still some older components such as a (later introduced) Louis XV chimney surround, a timepiece from 1793. The original equipment of the orangery includes five painted wallpapers, made by W.J. Laqui, which were made between 1794 and 1798. They depict scenes from tragedies by Voltaire.
