Inleiding

LANDHUIS, genaamd "Benvenuta", oorspronkelijk "De Bult" en gebouwd in 1928 naar het ontwerp van J. Dullaart in de trant van de Amsterdamse School. Het landhuis is vrijstaand gelegen op een ruim sterk geaccidenteerd terrein aan de noordoostzijde van de Bussumergrintweg in het Kannesheuvelpark. De erfscheiding staat langs het terrein aan de zijde van de Bussumergrintweg.

Omschrijving

Het landhuis is in zandkleurige baksteen in twee bouwlagen en een hoge kapverdieping opgetrokken op een vrijwel L-vormige plattegrond met vm. garages aangebouwd aan de noordzijde en een overdekt portiek aan de zuidzijde. De hoogte van de bouwvolumes variëren, alsmede de kaphoogten. De dakschilden zijn bedekt met gesmoorde Romaanse pannen. Overstekken met brede gootlijsten. Terrassen in de oost- en zuidhoek. Vloeren van terrassen en portiek met rode en zwarte plavuizen belegd. Stalen ramen in houten kozijnen.

De voorgevel (ZW) bevat links de houten toegangsdeur in ronde kozijnstijlen met zijlichten voorzien van decoratieve diefijzers. Onder het schilddak haaks op de links doorgetrokken topgevel een diepe portiek waarvan het eerste bordes bereikbaar is via drie hardstenen treden, het tweede via vijf treden. Cirkelvormige bakstenen plantenbakken bij de aanzet. Het dak rust op grote gehouwen zandstenen stukken, bij toegangsdeur zijn de muurdammen bekleed met witte/zwarte/ blauwe tegeltjes. Rechts van de toegang een topgevel met drie vertikale vensterstroken in puntvorm met ronde natuurstenen muurdammen en vensterbanken. Drie hoge gekleurde glas-in-loodramen ter verlichting van de grote hall. Daaronder kleine vensters. Op de verdieping drie draairamen met glas-in-lood. In de top een hoog, smal venster met roedenverdeling in decoratief kozijn onder uitgemetselde geveltop. Rechterzijde topgevel decoratief uitgemetselde muurdam. Rechts haaks op de topgevel een iets terugliggend volume onder schilddak. Twee kozijnen op de begane grond met twee vensters onder een iets terugliggend en smaller gekoppeld bovenlicht met glas-in-loodramen. Op de verdieping acht draaivensters met glas-in-loodramen waartussen een houten gevelbekleding. Terugliggend aan de linkerzijde twee houten garagedeuren in de stijl van de Amsterdamse School. In de westhoek een ingang.

De linker zijgevel (NW) bevat zes gekleurde glas-in-loodramen ter verlichting van de vestibule en wc. Links daarvan een topgevel met hoog, overhoeks venster met gekleurde glas-in-loodramen ter verlichting van het trappenhuis en de hall, onder het schilddak een vensterstrook met gekleurde glas-in-loodramen. Linksonder in de topgevel een hoog, smal venster met gekleurde glas-in-loodramen. Links van de topgevel loopt het schilddak van het hoofdvolume door tot de begane grond waarin een dubbel en een enkel venster met roedenverdeling. In het dakvlak dakkapellen. In de noordwestgevel van de garages onder schilddak een klein venster met roeden ter weerszijden van het uitgemetselde muurdeel.

De rechter zijgevel (ZO) bevat een lager uitgebouwd deel met halfronde serre met halfrond uitkragend kozijn boven een plantenbak. Op de serre een balkon ter hoogte van de verdieping met een stalen balustrade. Links openslaande deuren naar het terras op de zuidhoek met plantenbakken. De zuidoostgevel van het noordoost-zuidwest georiënteerde volume bevat op de begane grond openslaande deuren met aan weerszijden een dubbel venster onder doorgetrokken kalf. Rechts een venster. Op de verdieping twee maal openslaande deuren en vensters met roeden, en een balkon met stalen balustrade voorzien van bollen in Amsterdamse School-trant. Geveldeel uitgemetseld.

De achtergevel (NO) bevat in de topgevel van het noordoost-zuidwest volume onder tot begane grond doorgetrokken dakschild rechts geplaatste vensterreeks met vier vensters met roeden. Rechts een uitgemetselde schoorsteen. Achtergevel garages in verlengde topgevel met deur, links daarvan een gekoppeld venster met roeden en rechts een vensterreeks onder daklijst. In de achtergevel van het noordwest-zuidoost volume op de begane grond twee vensters met openslaande ramen en draairaam. Op de verdieping een vensterreeks onder de daklijst met drie gekoppelde en twee enkele ramen met roeden. Links onder de doorzetting van een deel van het dakschild een terras bereikbaar via openslaande deuren met een zijlicht links. Voor het terras bloembakken tussen pijlers. Vier dakkapellen in het achterschild.

Het interieur bevat oorspronkelijke onderdelen, onder meer parketvloeren, de wandbekledingen in de hall, lambrizeringen, het trappenhuis, de kenmerkende ronde deur- en vensterkozijnen, en een armatuur in de hall.

De erfscheiding bestaat uit ijzeren hekken tussen bakstenen pijlers. Het ijzeren frame van de hekken is overspannen met ijzeren draadhek. De toegang tot het terrein wordt gevormd door twee cirkelvormige bakstenen pijlers met ijzeren vleugel met krullen in de stijl van de Amsterdamse School. In de tuin aan de zuidoostzijde in rode baksteen uitgevoerde halfronde trap met drie treden naar een cirkelvormig bordes vanwaar met zes treden naar hoger niveau met wandelgang naar links en rechts.

Waardering

Het landhuis met interieuronderdelen en erfscheiding is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde als gaaf bewaard gebleven voorbeeld van een groot landhuis in de trant van de Amsterdamse School, gelegen in het Kannesheuvelpark.

The interior contains original components, including parquet floors, the wall coverings in the hall, wainscoting, the stairwell, the characteristic round door and window frames, and a fixture in the hall.

The boundary fence consists of iron gates between brick piers. The iron frame of the gates is spanned with iron wire mesh. Access to the plot is formed by two circular brick piers with iron wing with curls in the style of the Amsterdam School.
