Inleiding
Voormalig TOLHUIS, in 1900 gebouwd in een door Neo-Renaissance beïnvloedde trant, toen de tol naar dit punt aan de noordzijde van de 's-Gravelandseweg werd verplaatst tijdens de aanleg van het Nimrodpark in de periode 1899-1902. De Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van het Nimrodpark stond kosteloos een stukje grond af aan de administratie van de weg van 's-Graveland naar Soestdijk, ten behoeve van de stichting van een nieuw tolhuis aan het nieuwe uiteinde van het dorp. Het voormalige tolhuis is beeldbepalend direkt aan de weg gesitueerd.
Omschrijving
Het voormalige tolhuis is opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond met een aanbouw aan de noordzijde en bevat een bouwlaag en een zolderverdieping onder zadeldak met de noklijn evenwijdig aan de weg, bedekt met grijze kruispannen. De daklijst rust op gesneden consoles. De oorspronkelijke schoorsteen bevindt zich aan de noordzijde, een nieuwe is in het midden op de nok geplaatst. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in rode baksteen met gesucte speklagen op een gestucte plint. De lisenen met bossagepanelen op de hoeken zijn gestuct, evenals de aanzet- en sluitstenen van de ontlastingsbogen op de begane grond en de hanekammen op de zolderverdieping. Introduction
Former TOLL HOUSE, built in 1900 in a style influenced by Neo-Renaissance, when the toll was relocated to this point on the north side of the 's-Gravelandseweg during the construction of Nimrodpark in the period 1899-1902. Description
The former toll house is erected on a rectangular plan with an extension on the north side and contains a ground storey and an attic storey under a gabled roof with the ridge line parallel to the road, covered with grey glazed Dutch pantiles. The roof cornice rests on carved consoles. The original chimney is situated on the north side; a new one is positioned in the middle on the ridge. The facades are built in red brick with ashlar joints on a rendered plinth. The pilasters with rusticated panels at the corners are rendered, as are the springing and voussoirs of the relieving arches on the ground storey and the coping stones on the attic storey. The spandrels are filled with red and yellow bricks. The windows on the ground storey are fitted with shutters.
The symmetrical front facade (S) contains in the middle the wooden entrance door with iron grillwork under a fanlight. On either side is a T-shaped sash window.
