Inleiding
TRANSFORMATORGEBOUW, behorende tot het schoolcomplex 'De Wegwijzer', gebouwd in 1930 in Expressionistische bouwtrant naar het ontwerp van gemeente-architect W.M. Dudok, beeldbepalend gesitueerd aan de Insulindelaan, aan de zuidoostzijde van het schoolgebouw op de noordoosthoek aan de kruising van de Insulindelaan en de Sumatralaan.
Omschrijving
Transformatorgebouw, ter hoogte van één bouwlaag opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond en afgesloten door een zeer ver overstekend schilddak met de noklijn evenwijdig aan de weg, met doorgetrokken achterschild en bedekt met zwarte Romaanse pannen. De geschilderde gevels zijn opgetrokken op een plint van rode baksteen, terwijl de bovenste gevelrand is opgevuld met glasblokken en de overstekken zijn bekleed met houten delen. In de west- en noordgevel bevindt zich een deur.

TRANSFORMER BUILDING, belonging to the school complex 'De Wegwijzer', built in 1930 in Expressionist style according to the design of municipal architect W.M. Description
Transformer building, at the height of one storey constructed on a rectangular ground plan and closed off by a very far overhanging hipped roof with the ridge line parallel to the road, with extended rear slope and covered with black Romanesque tiles. The painted facades are constructed on a plinth of red brick, while the upper facade edge is filled in with glass blocks and the overhangs are clad with wooden parts. In the west and north facade a door is present.

The transformer building built as part of the complex 'De Wegwijzer', is of general importance due to architectural, cultural-historical as well as typological value as a well-preserved example of a transformer building in Expressionist style, according to the design of municipal architect W.M.
