Inleiding
Aan de noordelijke zijde van de als rijksmonument beschermde R.K. kerk van St. Petrus Banden staat de blokvormige R.K. PASTORIE, waarschijnlijk daterende uit omstreeks 1860 en gebouwd in neo-classicistische stijl. In 1979-1980 is het aan de noordelijke zijde aangebouwde koetshuis geamoveerd ten behoeve van een moderne aanbouw.
Omschrijving
De tweelaags pastorie heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en wordt gedekt door een afgeplat schilddak met lei in Maasdekking. Op het plat staan een viertal schoorstenen in carré-opstelling.
De gevels zijn opgetrokken in handvorm baksteen en worden bekroond door een kroonlijst, bestaande uit een fries met geprofileerde houten blokgoot. De symmetrische voorgevel is naar de aan de oostelijke zijde van het huis gelegen Dorpsstraat gericht en telt vijf vensterassen. De plint en de doorlopende cordonlijst zijn gepleisterd. Op de begane grond zijn achtruits schuifvensters toegepast, op de verdieping zesruits schuifvensters. De centraal in de gevel geplaatste paneeldeur met bovenlicht met glas-in-loodpanelen heeft een pilasteromlijsting met kroonlijst op consoles. In de overigens blinde zuidelijke zijgevel is op de verdieping een zesruits schuifvenster. De noordelijke zijgevel is, buiten de aanbouw uit ca. 1980, geheel blind. In de achtergevel openslaande deuren en op de verdieping vijf zesruits schuifvensters met hardstenen dorpels. De voortuin wordt van de openbare weg gescheiden door een smeedijzeren hekwerk met gietijzeren kolommen. De muur rond de diepe achtertuin is omstreeks 1980 vernieuwd.
Waardering
De pastorie is van algemeen belang. Zij heeft cultuur-historisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van het katholicisme in het zuiden en is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van de pastorie. Zij heeft architectuur-historische waarde vanwege de sobere maar evenwichtige stijl en de detaillering. Het gebouw heeft ensemblewaarden vanwege de bijzondere betekenis door de situering naast de kerk, en is daarmee tevens nauw verbonden met de ontwikkeling van het dorp.

On the northern side of the Roman Catholic church of St. Petrus Banden protected as a national monument stands the block-shaped Roman Catholic PARSONAGE, probably dating from around 1860 and built in neo-classical style. In 1979-1980 the coach house attached to the northern side was demolished for a modern extension.
Description
The two-storey parsonage has a rectangular floor plan and is covered by a flattened hipped roof with slate in Maasdekking. On the flat stand four chimneys in a square arrangement.
The facades are built of handmade brick and are topped by a cornice, consisting of a frieze with a profiled wooden box gutter. The symmetrical front facade faces Dorpsstraat, located on the eastern side of the house, and has five window axes. The plinth and the running cordon moulding are plastered. On the ground floor four-pane sash windows are used, on the upper storey six-pane sash windows. The panelled door centrally placed in the facade with fanlight with leaded glass panels has a pilaster surround with cornice on consoles. In the otherwise blind southern side facade is on the upper storey a six-pane sash window. The northern side facade is, apart from the extension from around 1980, entirely blind. In the rear facade glazed doors and on the upper storey five six-pane sash windows with sandstone sills. The front garden is separated from the public road by a wrought-iron framework with cast-iron columns. The wall around the deep rear garden was renewed around 1980.
Valuation
The parsonage is of general importance. It has cultural-historical importance as a particular expression of the development of Catholicism in the south and is moreover of importance for the typological development of the parsonage. It has architectural-historical value because of its sober yet balanced style and detailing. The building has ensemble values because of its particular significance through its location next to the church, and is thereby closely connected with the development of the village.
