Omschrijving
R.K. Kerk van St. Petrus'Banden. Gesticht voor 1285, in haar huidige vorm een laatgotische kruisbasiliek met ingebouwde toren en moderne aanbouw te weerszijden van het koor. Het koor, uit omstreeks 1400, omstreeks 1930 verhoogd. Het schip, met lager dwarspand, behoort tot de Maasgotiek, omstreeks 1450, met kruisribgewelven op zuilen met door plompebladeren versierde kapitelen. Prachtige toren, hersteld in 1884 en 1905 (Jos. Th. Description
Roman Catholic Church of St. Petrus's Bonds. Founded before 1285, in its present form a late Gothic cross basilica with an integrated tower and modern additions on either side of the choir. The choir, from around 1400, heightened around 1930. The nave, with a lower transept, belongs to the Meuse Gothic style, around 1450, with cross-ribbed vaults on columns with capitals decorated with foliage. Magnificent tower, restored in 1884 and 1905 (Jos. Th. Cuypers), with extensive use of natural stone, corner buttresses with spandrels, natural stone arch friezes in the wall surfaces of the divisions of the tower mass, projecting stair turrets; tall spire narrowing from four to eight sides, crowned by a finial (built in 1714 after the fire of 1699). Inventory: hardstone baptismal font from around 1500; oak pulpit, 18th century, with later Evangelist heads and a rail from around 1800; 15th-century figures of Catherine and Barbara; St. Anne figure from around 1750. Painting on panel from around 1700; miraculous multiplication of bread. Organ in neo-Gothic case, built by the Mechlin organ builder Loret in 1863. Restored in 1889, 1907 and 1937. Wooden gallery in neo-Gothic style with balustrade, supported by corbels, which rest on coupled natural stone columns. In a neo-Gothic case an organ with Great and Positive divisions, built in 1863 by F.B. Loret. Restored in 1889, 1907 and 1987.
