Inleiding.
Het PAKHUIS annex BEELDHOUWERSATELIER is gelegen aan de noordelijke zijde van het kleine vierkante plein dat de zuidelijke afsluiting van het Sint Janskerkhof vormt. Het pakhuis werd omstreeks 1890 gebouwd en fungeerde als pakhuis/atelier voor de beeldhouwer M. van Bokhoven, wiens atelier een grote rol speelde in de productie van religieuze beeldhouwkunst en kerkmeubilair in 's-Hertogenbosch. Het pand is gebouwd in een Traditioneel-Ambachtelijke stijl. Aan beide zijden is het pakhuis/atelier vastgebouwd aan de aangrenzende panden. Aan de achterzijde van het pand werd omstreeks 1910 aan de westzijde een smalle, ondiepe aanbouw voor toiletten aangebouwd. In 1981 werd het pand ter hoogte van de begane grond door middel van een tussenlid vastgebouwd aan het winkelpand Hinthamerstraat 111, waarbij de oorspronkelije achtergevel op begane grondniveau werd weggebroken.
Omschrijving.
Het pand heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en telt twee bouwlagen onder een plat dak met voorschild, gedekt met oud-Hollandse pannen. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in baksteen, met een rollaag boven de pui op de begane grond en op plinthoogte. Hardstenen dorpels onder de vensters. Boven de pui en de deuren op eerste en zolderverdieping stalen balken. De voorgevel wordt afgesloten door een geprofileerde gootlijst op klossen. De middenpartij is hoger opgetrokken - tot het niveau van het plat dak. Op de begane grond een beglaasde vleugeldeur met kleine roedenverdeling. Aansluitend aan weerszijden zesruits ramen. Ter hoogte van de eerste verdieping een laadluik met beglaasde vleugeldeur. Aan beide zijden hiervan zesruits ramen onder ontlastingsbogen. Op de zolderverdieping een smaller, lager hijsluik, eveneens met beglaasde vleugeldeuren, waarin een kleine roedenverdeling. Boven dit luik een stalen hijsbalk. In de westelijke zijgevel een zijingang, gevormd door een paneeldeur met bovenlicht en lage bakstenen stoep. Op ter hoogte van de eerste en tweede verdieping tweeruits valramen. In de oostelijke zijgevel op de eerste verdieping één, op de tweede verdieping twee tweeruits valramen. De achtergevel gaat op begane grond niveau schuil achter het éénlaags tussenlid, dat het pakhuis met het winkelpand aan de Hinthamerstraat verbindt. Ter hoogte van de eerste verdieping een groot vijftienruits raam. Op de bovenverdieping een achtruits venster met valramen in het bovengedeelte. Het inwendige van het pand geeft in hoofdlijnen nog een goede indruk van de oorspronkelijke situatie: het pakhuis/atelier had houten vloeren, rustend op houten balken. Tegen de westelijke zijde een houten trap met trapluiken. Later is tegen de oostelijke gevel een nieuwe goederenlift geplaatst.
Waardering.
Het pakhuis/beeldhouwersatelier is van algemeen belang en bezit cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische en culturele ontwikkeling: als bedrijfsruimte voor het atelier van de belangrijke Bossche beeldhouwer M. van Bokhoven vormt het pand een goede illustratie van de belangrijke rol die ateliers voor religieuze beeldhouwkunst in het culturele leven van 's-Hertogenbosch speelden en vertegenwoordigt het object kunsthistorische waarde. Tevens vormt het een herinnering aan de invloedrijke beeldhouwer M. van Bokhoven. Als bedrijfsruimte voor een beeldhouwersatelier vormt het pand tevens een goede illustratie van een typologische ontwikkeling. Het pakhuis/beeldhouwersatelier is van belang vanwege de gaafheid. The WAREHOUSE and SCULPTOR'S STUDIO is located on the northern side of the small square that forms the southern boundary of Sint Janskerkhof. The warehouse was built around 1890 and served as a warehouse/studio for sculptor M. van Bokhoven, whose studio played a major role in the production of religious sculpture and church furnishings in 's-Hertogenbosch. The building is constructed in a Traditional-Craft style. On both sides the warehouse/studio is built adjacent to neighbouring properties. Around 1910, a narrow, shallow extension for toilets was added to the rear on the western side. In 1981, the building at ground floor level was connected via a linking section to the shop at Hinthamerstraat 111, whereby the original rear facade at ground floor level was demolished.

The building has a rectangular floor plan and consists of two storeys beneath a flat roof with a half-hipped roof section, covered with old Dutch tiles. The facades are of brick, with a roll moulding above the storefront on the ground floor and at plinth level. Hardstone sills beneath the windows. Above the storefront and doors on the first and attic floor steel beams. The front facade is finished with a moulded cornice on consoles. The central section is raised higher - to the level of the flat roof. On the ground floor a glazed double door with small glazing bars. Adjacent on either side are six-light windows. At first floor level a loading hatch with a glazed double door. On either side of this six-light windows beneath relieving arches. On the attic floor a narrower, lower hoist opening, also with glazed double doors, featuring small glazing bars. Above this opening a steel hoist beam. In the western side facade a side entrance, formed by a panelled door with fanlight and low brick step. At first and second floor level two-light sash windows. In the eastern side facade at first floor one, at second floor two two-light sash windows. The rear facade at ground floor level is hidden behind the single-storey linking section that connects the warehouse to the shop on Hinthamerstraat. At first floor level a large fifteen-light window. On the upper floor a eight-light window with sash windows in the upper section. The interior of the building still gives a good impression of the original situation overall: the warehouse/studio had wooden floors, resting on wooden beams.
