Inleiding
In 1901 gebouwde vaste VERKEERSBRUG/OVERKLUIZING over de Voorstraathaven, de voormalige Vischhaven. De als de Visbrug bekende overkluizing vormt de vaste verbinding tussen de Voorstraat en de Groenmarkt en verving een veel smallere, beweegbare brug over de toen nog bevaarbare haven. De Visbrug maakt deel uit van het beschermde stadsgezicht van Dordrecht.
Omschrijving
De Visbrug vormt tegenwoordig een bestrate en betegelde, vaste noord-zuidverbinding tussen de Voorstraat en de Groenmarkt. Het geplaveide brugdek ligt op groot aantal stalen balken. De onderdoorgangen zijn aan beide zijden voorzien van deels horizontaal gebogen liggers (lateien) van geklonken staal, waarop enkele lagen baksteen liggen. Hierop liggen randen van beton, waaraan smeedijzeren brugleuningen met onder meer getordeerde spijlen zijn bevestigd. In het midden van beide brugleuningen staat de gietijzeren sokkel van een lantaarnpaal, waarop tegenwoordig een ijzeren bloembak staat. De brugleuningen zijn tevens bevestigd aan de achterste kopgevelhoeken van de panden aan de Voorstraat en de Groenmarkt. Waar de uiteinden van de overkluizingen de zij- en de achtergevels van de Voorstraat en de Groenmarkt en de kademuren raken rusten ze op gebosseerde hoekblokken. De hoekverbindingen tussen de overkluizing met de achtergevels en de kademuren zijn gebogen. Er bevindt zich bovendien een trap met hardstenen treden naar het water aan de zuid-oostelijke Voorstraatzijde.
Waardering
De Visbrug is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische, de architectuurhistorische en de stedenbouwkundige waarde.

Introduction
In 1901 a fixed TRAFFIC BRIDGE/CULVERT was built over the Voorstraathaven, the former Vischhaven. The culvert known as the Visbrug forms the fixed connection between the Voorstraat and the Groenmarkt and replaced a much narrower, movable bridge over the then still navigable harbour. The Visbrug is part of the protected townscape of Dordrecht.
Description
The Visbrug nowadays forms a paved and tiled fixed north-south connection between the Voorstraat and the Groenmarkt. The paved bridge deck rests on a large number of steel beams. The underpasses are furnished on both sides with partly horizontally curved beams (lintels) of riveted steel, on which lie several layers of brickwork. On these lie concrete edgings, to which wrought-iron bridge railings with among other things twisted balusters are attached. In the middle of both bridge railings stands the cast-iron base of a lamp post, on which nowadays stands an iron flower box. The bridge railings are also attached to the rear corner gables of the buildings on the Voorstraat and the Groenmarkt. Where the ends of the culverts meet the side and rear facades of the Voorstraat and the Groenmarkt and the quay walls they rest on rusticated corner blocks. The corner connections between the culvert with the rear facades and the quay walls are curved. There is moreover a staircase with sandstone steps to the water on the south-eastern Voorstraat side.
