Inleiding
FOLLY behorende bij het woonhuiscomplex Wolwevershaven 34. Het complex bestaat uit een woonhuis uit 1895-1896 in de stijl van de Neo-Hollandse Renaissance met in de achterliggende stadstuin een door middel van een galerij met het huis verbonden tuinkoepel in Eclectische stijl en een waarschijnlijk oudere, als schuurtje dienende, achter in de tuin tegen een muur staande folly. Dit object is gebouwd in een aan de Engelse Landschapsstijl verwante rustieke stijl. De folly is waarschijnlijk het restant van een oudere tuinaanleg.
Omschrijving
De folly bestaat uit een éénlaags, deels met lavasteen bekleed cementstenen gebouwtje. In de naar de tuin gerichte gevel van de folly staat een vierruitsvenster met houten kozijn. In de linker zijgevel staat een houten deurtje. Langs de dakrand zijn lavasteen plantenbakken geplaatst, het balkon heeft een balustrade van kruiselings geplaatste imitatie boomstammen van cementsteen.

De laat negentiende-eeuwse folly is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische, de cultuurhistorische en de ensemblewaarde.

FOLLY belonging to the residential complex Wolwevershaven 34. The complex consists of a residential house from 1895-1896 in the style of Neo-Dutch Renaissance with in the rear urban garden a garden pavilion connected to the house by means of a gallery in Eclectic style and a probably older folly serving as a shed, standing against a wall at the rear of the garden. This object is built in a rustic style related to the English Landscape style. The folly is probably the remnant of an older garden layout.
Description
The folly consists of a single-storey small building of cement stone, partly clad with lava stone. In the facade of the folly facing the garden stands a four-pane window with a wooden frame. In the left side facade stands a small wooden door. Along the roof edge lava stone planters have been placed; the balcony has a balustrade of cross-placed imitation tree trunks of cement stone.
