Inleiding
TOEGANGSHEK, onderdeel van het complex van villa, toegangshek en tuinmanswoning behorende bij de voormalige buitenplaats Gravesteijn. Het hek staat aan het begin van de oprijlaan naar het huis, aan de Amstelwijckweg.
Omschrijving
Toegangshek bestaande uit twee smeedijzeren draaihekken die aan vierkante gemetselde hekpijlers hangen. De hekpijlers hebben een hardstenen basement en geprofileerde, hardstenen dekplaten waarop een gecementeerde schilddragende leeuw. Op beide pijlers een klein cartouche met gekrulde randen waarin Grave-steijn is gegraveerd.
Aan de buitenzijde van beide pijlers een vaste smeedijzeren hek met gekrulde spijlen. Het openslaande deel heeft een sierlijke bovenrand.
Waardering
Het toegangshek is van algemeen belang vanwege architectuurhistorische, cultuurhistorische en ensemblewaarde.

ENTRANCE GATE, part of the complex of villa, entrance gate and gardener's lodge belonging to the former country estate Gravesteijn. The gate stands at the beginning of the drive to the house, on the Amstelwijckweg.
Description
Entrance gate consisting of two wrought-iron swing gates hanging on square masonried gate piers. The gate piers have an ashlar basement and profiled, ashlar top plates on which sits a cemented roof-bearing lion. On both piers a small cartouche with curled edges in which Gravesteijn is engraved.
On the outside of both piers a fixed wrought-iron gate with curled bars. The opening section has an ornamental top edge.
Valuation
The entrance gate is of general importance on account of architectural-historical, cultural-historical and ensemble value.
