Omschrijving
Inleiding
Waardering
De boerderij is van algemeen belang vanwege:
* bouwhistorie, vanwege de gefaseerde bouwgeschiedenis;
* typologie, vanwege het type aaneengebouwd voor- en achterhuis dat een vroege fase in de Zeeuwse boerderij-ontwikkeling vertegenwoordigt; dit is bovendien een zeldzaam gegeven; vanwege de lage zijgevel van de schuur, voorzien van opwelvingen; tevens als voorbeeld van de Zeeuwse schuurgroep;
* interieurelementen van voor- en achterhuis, hoofdzakelijk bestaande uit het historische casco;
* het erf met zijn indeling en inrichting;
* de bijzondere elementen van het erf zoals bestrating en beplanting;
* ensemblewaarden, vanwege de samenhang tussen boerderij en landschap; dit mede vanwege de verhoogde ligging nabij een driesprong.

Description
Introduction
Farm located on a rise near a three-way junction, consisting of a front house and rear house built adjoining each other with an attached barn and farmyard. The pigsty and wagon house have disappeared. The farm is situated on an old house site dating from at least the sixteenth century. Given the proportions and the (to a certain extent historical) arrangement of the windows, the present farm probably dates from the eighteenth century. Moreover, older material was used in the construction, such as large bricks in the front facade.
Description
Farm consisting of a dwelling of one storey under a gabled roof, covered with red tuiles du Nord and a much wider and longer barn section under a thatched gabled roof (with corrugated iron over it). Originally the end of the barn was provided with a half-hipped roof, but after a calamity the gable was rebuilt and the roof termination was altered. The dwelling is largely constructed in Ijssel format with large bricks in the gable wall. The barn walls are partly timber on a stone base, partly bricked up around 1900. The dwelling has two historical sash windows in the gable wall, other windows and doors are broadly historical in dimension, less so in their infill. The dwelling has a kitchen and cellar/storage room on the north side, a single long room on the south side (originally two rooms). The cellar has a heavy wall and a barrel vault and is accessible via mortared steps. The house still contains old floor joists to a certain extent. On the upper floor (originally a seed loft) a softwood yoke, a jib bolted (below)/pegged (above) with almond-shaped carpenters' marks. The barn consists of a total of seven bays; six roof trusses are still original. These are collar-tie roof trusses with an overhang on one side. Straight carpenters' marks. Cow and horse stalls are still recognisable. The barn has two sets of large divided doors on the north side where the roof is raised. The barn further contains, among other things, a number of Dutch doors, half-round stable windows and small strip-shaped windows. A clinker paving surrounds the barn. At the location of the former manure pit there is now a garden. Along the north side of the farmyard stand an oak, poplar, ash and chestnut. The elms have all disappeared. The farmyard around the farm is furnished with various historical elements, partly preserved in their historical context. There are two entrances to the farmyard from the three-way junction: one near the dwelling and one near the gable wall of the barn. To the right of the entrance to the dwelling is a vegetable garden/standard fruit orchard. Diagonally opposite the dwelling is a meadow/orchard. Further away is a watering place.
Valuation
The farm is of general interest because of:
* building history, on account of its phased construction history;
* typology, on account of the type of adjoining front and rear house which represents an early phase in the development of the Zeeland farm; moreover this is a rare occurrence; on account of the low side wall of the barn, provided with bulges; also as an example of the Zeeland barn group;
* interior elements of the front and rear houses, consisting mainly of the historical structural shell;
* the farmyard with its layout and furnishings;
* the distinctive elements of the farmyard such as paving and planting;
* ensemble values, on account of the relationship between the farm and the landscape; also on account of the raised location near a three-way junction.
