Omschrijving

Description

Residential building of the type OFFICIAL'S RESIDENCE (1) consisting of a single-storey, partly rendered main volume with rectangular floor plan, closed off by a U-shaped hipped roof covered with dampened crossed tiles from approximately 1875-1900. On the north side of this is an extension from the early twentieth century. The extension consists of a single-storey rectangular building volume closed off by a hipped roof followed by an identical building volume with a flat roof. This extension is partly rendered, partly brickwork in English bond, interrupted by specklayers. On the east and south sides of the main building is a later placed conservatory. On the two corners of the hipped roof and in the left and right roof pitches are a brick chimney stack and several original two-light roof windows.

Adjacent to the non-rendered FRONT FACADE (south facade) with sandstone plinth of the main building is a tiled platform spanning the full width. Centrally in the platform is a simple stoop with sandstone treads, which provides access to the entrance section. The entrance section is located in the slightly projecting central axis, consisting of a panelled door with a segmental arched fanlight. To the right of the wooden profiled door frame with sandstone threshold is a bell pull with an ornamental iron handle. The panelled door with glazing is screened by a wrought-iron decorative grille with Art Nouveau influences. An identical grille is located in the fanlight, placed on the inside. In the left axis is a conservatory, placed on the platform. The glass-enclosed wooden conservatory with a flat roof consists of one storey. The front consists of four coupled single-light windows with wooden breast wall and glass-in-lead fanlight. The left side consists of two coupled windows with identical breast wall and fanlight. The right side is identical to the left side with the exception of the sliding door with glazing on the far right. The windows are separated from each other by profiled rails and stiles. The conservatory is closed off at the top by a cornice with profiled brackets. In the right axis is a double glazed door with segmental arched fanlight closed off by a segmental arch with laid-in roll course. The facade ends on the far right in a corner stone, closed off at the top by a cornice with gutter and in the roof pitch in line with the left and right axes a dormer. The dormers consist of a four-light hipped roof window with wooden frame closed off by a triangular pediment with underlying gabled roof with a profiled gutter on both sides.

The LEFT SIDE FACADE consists of a recessed rendered side facade of the extension, a rendered rear facade of the main building and a rendered left side facade of the main building with black-painted plinth. In the left side facade of the main building are on the left two identical six-light sash windows with below each window a basement window with burglar bars. To the right in this facade are two identical, lower placed T-windows flanked on both sides by venetian blinds. In the roof pitch is an original two-light roof window.

The REAR FACADE is the north facade of the extension closed off by a flat roof with gutter with an irregular window arrangement. The facade with rendered plinth is built in reddish-brown brick in English bond with specklayers at the height of the sill, intermediate and head of the window openings. The window openings are closed off by a laid brick arch and a segmental arch with rendered keystone. On the left in the facade is a T-window, followed by a tall, narrow window with burglar bars and an entrance section on the far right. The entrance section consists of a simple stoop with three sandstone treads and a platform. The sandstone platform is flanked on both sides by a wrought-iron stair railing.

The RIGHT SIDE FACADE with rendered plinth consists of the rendered east facade of the main building, the strongly projecting east facade of the extension closed off by a hipped roof and the slightly recessed east facade of the extension with flat roof. In the rendered facade are from left to right a T-window, a B-window with glass-in-lead fanlight, a five-sided bay with flat roof and a B-window. The bay consists of a stone substructure, a profiled wooden breast wall, above which five B-windows separated from each other by profiled stiles closed off by a cornice and a profiled gutter. In the right axis of the bay is, instead of a B-window, a panelled door with glazing and a fanlight. A simple brick stoop with on one side a wrought-iron stair railing provides access to the bay. The projecting, respectively recessed facade part with rendered plinth is built in English bond with specklayers at the height of the sill, intermediate and head of the window openings closed off by a gutter on corbels. In the projecting facade part is a two-light window with burglar bars followed by a three-section window. In this facade part are three Art Nouveau wall anchors. Centrally in the recessed facade part is a stoop with three sandstone treads and a platform flanked on both sides by a wrought-iron stair railing. The stoop provides access to a panelled door with a fanlight screened by burglar bars. On both sides of the entrance section is a cuckoo window.

The INTERIOR has largely been preserved in its original state with among others panelled doors, marble floor and marble chimney surrounds, stucco ceilings and stencil paintings. The main building consists of a corridor with on both sides two rooms with etched glass in the doors of the draught entrance. Of particular value are the 'white' and the 'brown' room with classicistic/neo-renaissance chimney surrounds with coffered ceilings. In the brown room there are still original stencil paintings and wooden wainscoting. The corridor in the main building is extended into the extension. Here there is only on one side of the corridor the kitchen and scullery with original chimney, tiled floor, fitted cupboards and a water pump.
