Inleiding
Zuilvormige GASOLIEPOMP ten behoeve van de scheepvaart over de Gaag, omstreeks 1930 vervaardigd door de N.V. Riel en De Graaf Den Haag - Holland, voor de oliemaatschappij Shell. Na restauratie is de pomp teruggeplaatst op de oorspronkelijke plaats aan de Gaag. De brandstoftank is verdwenen maar het binnenwerk met handpomp, vulslang en teller is nagenoeg compleet. De kroon op de zuil verwijst naar het predikaat 'Koninklijk' dat Shell voert. De pomp is uniek in Nederland.
Omschrijving
Cilindrische gasoliepomp op een octogonale basis, geheel vervaardigd van geëmailleerd metaal. De zwart en roodgeschilderde basis is in drieën geleed. In de gele, cilindrische zuilschacht bevindt zich achter een ronde deur de pompinstallatie. Boven de zuil een rood met witte kroon met decoratieve imitatie-edelstenen rand, banden en in de top de naam SHELL in een ronde schijf.

De gasoliepomp is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde en typologische waarde verbonden met de geschiedenis van de Nederlandse binnenvaart en de geschiedenis van de Nederlandse brandstofvoorziening.

Introduction
Cylindrical PETROL PUMP for river transport on the Gaag, manufactured around 1930 by the N.V. Riel and De Graaf Den Haag - Holland, for the oil company Shell. After restoration the pump was replaced at its original location on the Gaag. The fuel tank has disappeared but the internal mechanism with hand pump, filling hose and meter is almost complete. Description
Cylindrical petrol pump on an octagonal base, entirely manufactured of enamelled metal. The black and red-painted base is divided into three sections. In the yellow cylindrical column shaft behind a round door is located the pump installation. Above the column a red and white crown with decorative imitation-gemstone border, bands and at the top the name SHELL in a round disc.
