Inleiding
NEDERLANDSE HERVORMDE KERK, gebouwd in 1911 naar een ontwerp van architectenbureau K.C. Suyling en zn.
Omschrijving
Bakstenen kerk onder omlopend schilddak, gedekt met leien. De kerk heeft een langgerekte achthoekige plattegrond. De gevels worden geleed door steunberen en lisenen, en staan op een gemetselde, uitstekende plint. Tegen de achterzijde van de kerk is de consistoriekamer aangebouwd. Midden op het dak is een vierzijdige dakruiter met klokkenstoel, bekroond door een spits geplaatst.
De openslaande houten deur is onder een spitsboog geplaatst. Erboven twee spitsboogramen. Ook in de zijgevels zijn spitsboogramen aangebracht. De spitsbogen boven deur- en raamopeningen zijn in strengperssteen uitgevoerd. In het gevelvlak rechts van de deur is een gevelsteen met opschrift L.H. LOUWE KOOYMANS/HEEFT AAN DIT GEBOUW/DEN EERSTE STEEN/ GELEGD 1911 aangebracht. Het interieur is sober uitgevoerd met wit gepleisterde wanden. Tegen het plafond zijn houten consoles op een kleine natuurstenen kraagsteen geplaatst. Op de tegelvloer staan twee rijen houten banken. Tegen de voorgevel is een uitbuikende orgelgalerij geplaatst. Tegen de achterwand een eikenhouten preekstoel, afkomstig uit de St. Laurenskerk te Rotterdam.
Het glas-in-lood van de ramen is onlangs vernieuwd.
Waardering
De kerk is van algemeen belang. De kerk is van cultuurhistorisch belang als uitdrukking van een geestelijke en typologische ontwikkeling; met name de late toepassing van neogotische vormen in een Nederlands Hervormd kerkgebouw. De kerk heeft architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de toegepaste stijlelementen en de sobere ornamentiek. Het gebouw is in- en uitwendig gaaf bewaard gebleven.

Description
Brick church under surrounding hipped roof, covered with slate. The church has an elongated octagonal floor plan. The facades are articulated by buttresses and pilasters, and stand on a brick, projecting plinth. Against the rear of the church the vestry room is annexed. In the middle of the roof is an octagonal roof turret with bellcote, crowned by a spire.
The double wooden door is placed under a pointed arch. Above it two pointed arch windows. Pointed arch windows are also placed in the side facades. The pointed arches above door and window openings are executed in pressed brick. In the facade plane to the right of the door is a stone tablet with inscription L.H. LOUWE KOOYMANS/HAS LAID THE FIRST STONE/ON THIS BUILDING/1911. The interior is soberly executed with whitewashed walls. Against the ceiling are wooden corbels placed on a small natural stone console. On the tile floor stand two rows of wooden pews. Against the front facade an projecting organ gallery is placed. Against the rear wall an oak pulpit, originating from the St. Laurenskerk in Rotterdam.
The stained glass of the windows has recently been renewed.
