Het woonhuis is een voormalig molenhuis dat werd gebouwd in 1879.
Omschrijving
Eénlaags woonhuis op een rechthoekige plattegrond onder zadeldak waarvan de nok evenwijdig aan de straat loopt. Het dak is gedekt met kruispannen en aan de topgevels voorzien van windveren. Aan de voorzijde heeft de gevel een kroonlijst. De gevels zijn geblokt gepleisterd. De plint is glad uitgevoerd.
In de rechterhelft van de gevel bevinden zich een deur en enkele rechthoekige ramen. Alle bovenlichten zijn gevuld met glas-in-lood. Naast de deur is een glazen naamplaat aangebracht met het opschrift: "C.Th. VAN DER HEIJDEN. MACHINES VOOR DE SCHOENINDUSTRIE".
De linkerzijgevel heeft in de top een zesruits raam alsmede een klein vierkant raampje. Op de begane grond bevinden zich T-ramen. Achter, tegen de rechterzijkant staat een éénlaags aanbouw onder plat dak, uitgevoerd in ijsselsteen. De achtergevel is hier iets hoger opgemetseld.
Voor het huis staan twee grote leilinden, restanten van de oorspronkelijke straatbeplanting.
Waardering
Het huis is van algemeen belang. Het huis is van cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische en typologische ontwikkeling van de kleinschalige huisnijverheid. Als zodanig is het zeldzaam en gaaf bewaard gebleven.

The residential house is a former mill house that was built in 1879.
Description
One-storey residential house on a rectangular plan under a gabled roof with the ridge running parallel to the street. The roof is covered with interlocking tiles and provided with wind vanes at the gabled ends. On the front the facade has a cornice. The facades are rendered with a textured finish. The plinth is executed smooth.
In the right half of the facade there are a door and several rectangular windows. All fanlights are filled with leaded glass. Next to the door a glass nameplate is mounted with the inscription: "C.Th. VAN DER HEIJDEN. MACHINES VOOR DE SCHOENINDUSTRIE".
The left side facade has in the gable a six-pane window as well as a small square window. On the ground floor there are T-windows. Behind, against the right side, stands a one-storey extension under a flat roof, executed in Ijssel brick. The rear facade is built slightly higher here.
In front of the house stand two large linden trees, remnants of the original street planting.
Valuation
The house is of general interest. The house is of cultural-historical importance as an example of the socio-economic and typological development of small-scale domestic industry. As such, it is rare and has been well preserved.
