Omschrijving onderdeel 5: KOETSHUIS behorende tot de voormalige buitenplaats Arcen.
Tegenover het poortgebouw op de voorburcht staat een tweede haakvormig gebouw uit het eind van de 17de- begin 18de eeuw, gebouwd op oude mergelfunderingen. Het gebouw bestaat uit twee bouwlagen onder een met pannen gedekt schilddak. Tegen de kopse oostgevel van het koetshuis werd in 1763 een oranjerie opgetrokken die in 1916 is afgebrand en afgebroken, thans staat hier een eind 20e-eeuwse kas die is gebouwd op de nog aanwezige 18de-eeuwse kelder met gemetselde gewelven. De gevels aan de binnenplaats zijde worden geleed door getoogde deuropeningen en vensters; de middenas van de zevenassige westgevel is voorzien van een deur en twee boven elkaar geplaatste ronde vensters, links daarvan een dakkapel. De haaks daarop staande zuidgevel heeft links een Vlaamse gevel met een groot venster waarachter zich een atelier bevond (begin 20ste eeuw); uiterst links een vensteras met een gebeeldhouwde paneeldeur, een ovaal venster met spaakroeden daarboven en een meerruits venster op de verdieping. De gevel aan de grachtzijde wordt geleed door zeven rondboognissen en op de verdieping drie ronde vensters.
Waardering
Het KOETSHUIS is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege de ouderdom;
- vanwege de bouwmassa en nagenoeg gaaf bewaarde gevelindeling;
- als karakteristiek onderdeel van de bebouwing op het voorplein en als pendant van het poortgebouw;

Description component 5: COACH HOUSE belonging to the former country estate Arcen.
Opposite the gatehouse on the forecourt stands a second hook-shaped building from the late 17th-early 18th century, built on old marl foundations. The building consists of two storeys under a hipped roof covered with tiles. Against the gable end east facade of the coach house an orangery was erected in 1763 which was destroyed by fire and demolished in 1916; now stands here a late 20th-century greenhouse which was built on the still present 18th-century cellar with brick vaults. The facades on the courtyard side are articulated by arched doorways and windows; the central axis of the seven-bay west facade is provided with a door and two round windows placed one above the other, to its left a roof dormer. The south facade perpendicular to it has on the left a Flemish gable with a large window behind which was an atelier (early 20th century); at the far left a window bay with a carved panelled door, an oval window with spoked panes above it and a multi-pane window on the upper storey. The facade on the moat side is articulated by seven round arch recesses and on the upper storey three round windows.

The COACH HOUSE is of general importance:

- because of its building mass and virtually intact preserved facade arrangement;
- as a characteristic component of the buildings on the forecourt and as counterpart of the gatehouse;
