HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende bij de buitenplaats De Gunne. In structuur en deels in detail bewaarde eenvoudige en kleinschalige parkaanleg in landschapsstijl uit het begin van de 19de eeuw binnen een 18de-eeuwse formele infrastructuur bestaande uit lanen en een omgrachting (die reeds in 1730 aanwezig was). De omgrachting omringt de voormalige moestuin (thans gazon) aan de noord-zuid en westzijde. Samen met de lanen zijn dit restanten van de tuin met een park in Franse formele stijl. Het ontwerp voor de aanleg in landschapsstijl kan worden toegeschreven aan de hovenier/tuinarchitect G.A. Blom (1765-1827), op basis van de overeenkomsten van op De Gunne bewaarde tekeningen van Blom en het ontwerp dat hij maakte voor het park van Huis Almelo te Almelo. De aanleg van De Gunne is niet exact uitgevoerd als op de tekeningen van Blom, maar dat hij de basis leverde voor de aanleg blijkt uit ondermeer de plaats van de twee vijvers ten noorden van het huis en de bosaanleg met (thans een restant van) slingerpaden, die ten westen van het huis aan de overkant van de Zwolseweg gelegen is. Deze weg doorsnijdt vanaf 1830 het landgoed. Thans (1999) kenmerkt de kleinschalige en ingetogen tuin- en parkaanleg van De Gunne -in hoofdlijnen zoals aangegeven op twee anonieme kaarten in het huisarchief (manuscriptkaarten uit de periode 1730-1745) en op de kaart van Hottinger uit 1788- zich als volgt: twee (wegens te geringe monumentale waarden niet beschermenswaardige) bakstenen pijlers met bol-bekroning markeren de toegang tot de buitenplaats aan de Zwolseweg. De in curven verlopende oprijlaan gaat langs het voorplein aan de zuidzijde van het huis en loopt naar de (wegens te geringe monumentale waarden niet beschermenswaardige) boerderij uit ca. 1925. De oprijlaan vertakt zich tevens naar de noord-zuid lopende lange dubbel ingeplante laan waarop haaks een brede sloot ligt die een scheiding vormt tussen het besloten gedeelte van de buitenplaats en de open landbouwgronden ten noorden van het huis. Ten oosten van de boerderij ligt een open weidegebied. Vanaf het voorplein zijn enkele zichtassen naar het zuiden geprojecteerd: er loopt een zichtas vanaf het voorplein over de parkweide naar de verder gelegen landbouwgronden en iets ten westen van deze as ligt een kleine, thans wat dichtgegroeide, zichtas. Rondom de open delen een dichte bosachtige begroeiing met slingerpaden. Voor en achter het huis staan tuinsieraden (sokkels, vazen, zuiltjes met bustes en stoeppalen). Ten noorden van het huis liggen twee vijvers. Tevens ligt hier een schuilkelder uit 1939. Over de linker vijver loopt een in noordelijke richting georiënteerde zicht tussen de hoogopgaande beuken door naar de hierachter gelegen landbouwgronden. Het aan drie zijden door een gracht omgeven gazon dat achter het huis is gelegen en waar tot ca. 1950 de moestuin lag, wordt omgeven door de restanten van een beukenberceau. Ten westen van het huis staat een laat-19de-eeuws tuinschuurtje en het hek dat toegang verleent tot de achtertuin. Ten zuidwesten van het huis, aan de overzijde van de in 1830 aangelegde Zwolseweg, ligt een driehoekig stuk bos met ondermeer oude beuken. Dit gedeelte maakt van oudsher deel uit van de buitenplaats. Vermoedelijk werd dit gedeelte net als het park, in het eerste kwart van de 19de eeuw aangelegd in landschapsstijl. Nog altijd zijn hier de slingerpaden te herkennen.

HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the country estate De Gunne. A simple and small-scale park layout in landscape style from the beginning of the 19th century, preserved in structure and partly in detail, within an 18th-century formal infrastructure consisting of lanes and a moat (which was already present in 1730). The moat surrounds the former vegetable garden (now lawn) on the north-south and west sides. Together with the lanes these are remnants of the garden with a park in French formal style. The design for the layout in landscape style can be attributed to the gardener/landscape architect G.A. Blom (1765-1827), based on the similarities between drawings by Blom preserved at De Gunne and the design he made for the park of Huis Almelo at Almelo. The layout of De Gunne was not executed exactly as shown in Blom's drawings, but that he provided the basis for the layout is evident from amongst others the location of the two ponds north of the house and the woodland planting with (now a remnant of) winding paths, which is situated west of the house on the other side of the Zwolseweg. This road has intersected the estate since 1830. At present (1999) the small-scale and restrained garden and park layout of De Gunne -in main lines as indicated on two anonymous maps in the house archive (manuscript maps from the period 1730-1745) and on the map by Hottinger from 1788- is characterised as follows: two brick pillars with ball finials (not worthy of protection owing to insufficient monumental values) mark the entrance to the country estate at the Zwolseweg. The winding approach road passes along the front courtyard on the south side of the house and runs towards the (not worthy of protection owing to insufficient monumental values) farmhouse from circa 1925. The approach road also branches off towards the north-south running long double-planted lane on which at right angles lies a broad ditch which forms a division between the enclosed part of the country estate and the open agricultural land north of the house. East of the farmhouse lies an open pasture area. From the front courtyard several sight lines are projected to the south: a sight line runs from the front courtyard across the park meadow towards the further agricultural land and slightly west of this line lies a small, now somewhat overgrown, sight line. Around the open areas a dense wooded vegetation with winding paths. In front of and behind the house stand garden ornaments (plinths, vases, pedestals with busts and bollards). North of the house lie two ponds. Also located here is a dugout shelter from 1939. Over the left pond runs a sight line oriented in a northerly direction between the tall beeches towards the agricultural land lying beyond. The lawn surrounded on three sides by a moat which lies behind the house and where until circa 1950 the vegetable garden was located, is surrounded by the remnants of a beech arbour. West of the house stands a late 19th-century garden shed and the gate which provides access to the back garden. South-west of the house, on the far side of the Zwolseweg laid out in 1830, lies a triangular piece of woodland with amongst others old beeches. This part has since ancient times been part of the country estate. This part was presumably laid out, like the park, in the first quarter of the 19th century in landscape style. The winding paths can still be recognised here.
