Description

The main building (house De Gunne) consists of an early 18th-century storehouse, which was enlarged at the end of the 18th century (the brickwork of the storehouse has been preserved in the western side gable). In 1822 this building was given a new front facade and two curved side wings. Later alterations took place in amongst others 1879 (realisation of a connecting passage with a few small rooms at the rear of the house) and in 1925 (internal renovation and modernisation). The partly cellared house originally had an almost rectangular, but owing to the later extensions, now a T-shaped floor plan. The two-storey corps-de-logis is built of red brick and is covered by a compound and truncated hipped roof which is tiled with grey tiles and fitted with brick chimneys. The one-storey side wings are likewise built of red brick and are covered by steep truncated hipped roofs, tiled with jointed tiles. The roof ridges are tiled with various types of tiles (including jointed old-Dutch, gutter and cross tiles). The house is fitted with stepped cornices, narrow cemented plinth and iron wall anchors. The right side wing (the former coach house) is now in use as a garage and has two double doors with fanlights with glazing bars. The regularly divided, seven-bay-wide front facade (south side) has a one-bay-wide central risalit, crowned by a simply profiled pediment. The side risalits are likewise one bay wide.
