Julianastraat BIJ 1, Woudrichem (onderdeel 2)
Inleiding.
Schuin achter het woonhuis ligt de SCHUUR, gebouwd in Ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant. Het object ligt met de nokrichting haaks op de weg en grenst met een zijmuur aan een openbaar pad. Het gebouwtje wordt gebruikt als berging.
Omschrijving.
De rechthoekige schuur ligt met de nokrichting dwars op het woonhuis. Het gebouwtje heeft een hoge bakstenen plint en is aan drie zijden opgetrokken uit rabatdelen onder een zadeldak met oud-Hollandse pannen, begrensd met geschulpte windveren met decoratief gesneden makelaar aan beide zijden. De muur grenzend aan het openbare pad is opgetrokken in staand verband machinale baksteen en heeft dichtgezette (deur)openingen. In de topgevel van de dwarse gevels ligt een halfrond raampje, aan de achterzijde tevens een rechthoekig eenruitsraampje. Twee halfronde raampjes en een opgeklampte deur in de zijgevel aan de zijde van het huis.
Waardering.
De schuur is van algemeen belang. Het pand heeft cultuurhistorische waarde vanwege de typologie van het opslaggebouw. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een utiliteitsgebouw van bescheiden afmeting maar hoge esthetische waarde wegens de detaillering. Het heeft ensemblewaarde als karakteristiek onderdeel van het complex waartoe verder het herenhuis en koetshuis behoren. Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven en betrekkelijk zeldzaam.
Julianastraat 1A, Woudrichem (onderdeel 3)
Inleiding.
Het vrijstaande KOETSHUIS, gebouwd in Eclectische stijl, ligt diep naar achter met de nokrichting parallel aan de weg en met de voorzijde gericht naar het woonhuis. De voortuin is door een hekwerk daarvan afgescheiden. Rond het huis ligt een brede grindrand, die aan de achterzijde grenst aan bejaardenwoningen. Het pand diende enige tijd als muziekruimte voor welk doel een verlaagd plafond en cementen vloer in de koetsruimte waren gelegd. Oorspronkelijk kende het koetshuis twee hoofdruimtes: de stalling voor de koets aan de straatzijde en het stalgedeelte aan de achterzijde. De koetsruimte had een vloer van IJsselsteentjes op zand en een hoog plafond van stuc op riet. In het stalgedeelte lagen aan de achtermuur de voederbak en ruif met vijf schotten voor de stallen. In de zijmuur twee ijzeren rondboograampjes met opgeklampte schuifluiken aan de binnenzijde. De nieuwe eigenaren hebben in ca. 1995 het koetshuis voor bewoning geschikt gemaakt en in het stalgedeelte een onderkeldering aangebracht, waarboven een hoger gelegen opkamer. De ca. zeven meter hoge kap kreeg een verdieping en vliering. Karakteristieke onderdelen van het oorspronkelijke interieur zijn in situ of elders in het huis hergebruikt.
Omschrijving.
Het eenlaags koetshuis met zolderverdieping op rechthoekige plattegrond heeft een zadeldak met wolfeinden gedekt met riet. Het heeft aan alle zijden een ruim dakoverstek met een geschulpte rand van ajour bewerkte bogen en cirkels. Een schoorsteenpijp op het dak aan de voorzijde. Onder het overstek gesneden houten consoles met spits zwart sierelement. De gevels zijn wit geblokt gepleisterd. Grijze bepleistering in de plint en segmentbogen. De aan de voorzijde gelegen oostelijke lange gevel heeft twee zesruitsschuiframen onder segmentboog met rustica aanzet- en sluitstenen. Twee dito vensters liggen ook in de noordelijke dwarsgevel op de zolderverdieping. Op de begane grond twee kleine ijzeren zesruitsrondboogvensters met driedelig klapluik. De westelijk gelegen achtergevel is blind met uitzondering van, ter hoogte van het souterrain, drie van elders herplaatste ijzeren raampjes, twee met vertikale driedeling, een met zesdeling. Westelijk ligt in de dwarsgevel de hoofdingang met links van het midden een vlakke paneeldeur met tweelicht en een zesruitsschuifraam. Rechts van het midden zijn de vlakke inrijdeuren vervangen door een segmentboogkozijn met openslaande deuren met ramen aan weerszijden onder segmentbooglichten. Op de verdieping centraal geplaatst een tweeluik met deuren met aan weerszijden en in de top van de gevel oculi met ijzeren rozetramen. Alle openingen zijn afgesloten met een grijsgepleisterde segmentboog met rood omrande rustica aanzet- en sluitstenen.
Inwendig is de tweedeling van het pand gerespecteerd: de koetsruimte is nu hoofdwoonvertrek met grote schouw, een gecombineerde houten en plavuizen vloer en nieuw stucplafond. De stal heeft door de onderkeldering een splitlevel gekregen, met in de opkamer het oorspronkelijke balkenplafond, de voederbak, ruif en ijzeren raampjes met schuifluiken in situ. De paardenschotten zijn elders in het huis hergebruikt, evenals de IJsselsteentjes. Op de zolderverdieping liggen over de breedte twee spanten met geschoorde nokstijl en schaarspanten in de wolfeinden.
Waardering.
Het pand is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van het woonhuis met koetshuis voor de elite. Het is architectuurhistorisch van belang vanwege de esthetische kwaliteiten van het ontwerp en de detaillering. Het heeft ensemblewaarde als essentieel onderdeel van een harmonisch geheel, verder bestaand uit het herenhuis en de schuur en als karakteristiek onderdeel van de historische bebouwing aan de Julianastraat. The detached COACH HOUSE, built in Eclectic style, is situated deep to the rear with the ridge direction parallel to the road and with the front facing the dwelling house. The front garden is separated from it by fencing. Around the house lies a broad gravel border, which borders on nursing home dwellings to the rear. The building served for some time as a music room for which purpose a lowered ceiling and cement floor had been laid in the coach room. Originally the coach house had two main spaces: the stabling for the coach on the street side and the stall section to the rear. The coach room had a floor of IJsselsteentjes on sand and a high stucco ceiling on reed. In the stall section at the rear wall were the feed trough and manger with five divisions for the stalls. In the side wall two iron round-arched windows with clamped sliding shutters on the inside. The new owners made the coach house suitable for habitation around 1995 and installed a basement in the stall section, above which a higher-level room. The approximately seven-metre-high roof structure received a storey and loft. Characteristic components of the original interior have been reused in situ or elsewhere in the house.

The single-storey coach house with loft storey on a rectangular floor plan has a gabled roof with half-hipped ends covered with thatch. It has on all sides a generous roof overhang with a sculpted edge of fretwork-processed arches and circles. A chimney stack on the roof at the front. Under the overhang carved wooden consoles with pointed black ornamental element. The facades are whitewashed rendered. Grey rendering in the plinth and segment arches. The eastern long facade located at the front has two six-pane sash windows under segment arch with rustica setting and closing stones. Two similar windows also lie in the northern transverse facade on the loft storey. On the ground floor two small iron six-pane round-arched windows with three-part hinged shutter. The western-located rear facade is blank with the exception of, at basement level, three iron windows relocated from elsewhere, two with vertical tripartition, one with six divisions. To the west in the transverse facade lies the main entrance with to the left of centre a flat panel door with two lights and a six-pane sash window. To the right of centre the flat sliding doors have been replaced by a segment-arched case with double doors with windows on either side under segment-arched lights. On the storey centrally placed a two-part door with doors with oculi on either side and in the top of the facade with iron rose windows. All openings are closed with a grey-rendered segment arch with red-bordered rustica setting and closing stones.
Internally the two-part division of the building is respected: the coach room is now the main living room with large fireplace, a combined wooden and tiled floor and new stucco ceiling. The stall has acquired a split level through the basement, with in the room the original beam ceiling, the feed trough, manger and iron windows with sliding shutters in situ. The horse divisions are reused elsewhere in the house, as are the IJsselsteentjes. On the loft storey two roof trusses lie across the width with braced ridge posts and collar-tie trusses in the half-hipped ends.
