Inleiding
TRANSFORMATORGEBOUW, gebouwd omstreeks 1928 in opdracht van het Provinciaal Elektriciteitsbedrijf (PEB) in een stijl waarin Amsterdamse School-elementen zijn te herkennen. Het gebouwtje, dat wordt aangeduid als `Ter Haar 5710', is een voorbeeld van een type trafo met plat dak.
De trafo is markant gelegen in het groen aan de doorgaande weg van Sellingen naar Ter Apel.
Omschrijving
Het TRANSFORMATORGEBOUW op rechthoekige plattegrond is opgetrokken inn rode baksteen op een trasraam van gesinterde bruinrode baksteen afgezet met een rollaag en wordt gedekt door een plat dak; uitkragend fries, aan de bovenzijde terugspringend met decoratieve loodslabben, hoeken geaccentueerd door uitkragend metselwerk.
Aan de voorzijde (noordgevel) een stalen deur met ijzeren gehengen onder rollaag met aan de linkerzijde een dichtgemetseld venster onder rollaag.
In de oostgevel dubbele deuren met ijzeren gehengen onder rollaag met aan de rechterzijde een bordje met de naam `Ter Haar 5710'.
In de westgevel twee staande vensters.

The TRANSFORMER STATION on a rectangular floor plan is constructed in red brick on a sandstone frame of sintered reddish-brown brick finished with a roll moulding and is covered by a flat roof; projecting frieze, at the top recessed with decorative lead slabs, corners accentuated by projecting brickwork.
At the front (north gable) a steel door with iron hinges under a roll moulding with on the left side a bricked-up window under a roll moulding.
In the east gable double doors with iron hinges under a roll moulding with on the right side a plate with the name 'Ter Haar 5710'.
In the west gable two vertical windows.
