Inleiding

- vanwege het type boerderij;

Introduction

FARM, as part of the complex, of the T-shaped farmhouse type with central longitudinal section built in 1849 at the commission of Cees de Vor. After a fire in 1847 the present farm was rebuilt in place of the old one. A wind-brace bears the inscription "CDV dz 1879", which refers to Cees de Vor Dirkszoon.

N.B. 1. The farm was provided in 1997 with two substantial modern roof dormers on the front. The thatch was covered together with the dormers. A tilting window has been installed in the rear wall.

N.B. 2. In the rear house the hall and stables have been altered. This included the pouring of a concrete floor. Moreover, a low extension has been built onto the front house. The construction of anchor-beam trusses has remained largely intact. N.B. 3. The present painting of the shutters with hourglass motif does not correspond to the historical situation.

Description

The farm is erected in brick (English bond) from a T-shaped ground plan. The front house placed transversely to the rear house has a thatch-covered gabled roof between spout gables. All windows are right-angled under a lintel and have shutters, hard-stone drip mouldings and sash windows. Rod anchors are applied all around. The symmetrical front facade has a cemented plinth and contains in the centre a door with hard-stone bottom lintel and fanlight and on either side two windows with six-pane sash windows. The symmetrical right side facade (northwest facade) contains a panel door with fanlight, on either side a six-pane sash window and in the gable a four-pane sash window. The date anchors form the year 1849. The southeast facade contains a basement window with shutters, an upper room window with six-pane sash window and in the gable a four-pane sash window. The rear house is of the hall type with a broad, three-aisle layout and has a thatch-covered gabled roof with half-hipped end. The side facades each contain four segmental relieving arch stable windows with iron bars with decorative detailing. The symmetrical rear facade contains in the centre a right-angled double part door with on either side a round-arch window with iron bars, a stable door and in the gable a hayloft door.

The INTERIOR, which is in reasonable condition, is notable among other things for the front house with original layout with a centrally located hallway and to the rear left a basement with upper room. In the hallway among other things a tiled aubergine-coloured plinth with leaf and flower motifs. The basement has a mortared staircase, tiles and wooden beam ceiling. In the rear right room a chimney breast with tiling from the first half of the nineteenth century consisting of small whites and tile tableaux in aubergine, and on either side columns decorated with parrots and peacocks. In the principal room (front left) a chimney breast executed with consoles and polychrome tiles painted with castles. In the rear house there is a mortared pump basin with copper pump.

Valuation

The farm is of general importance due to its architectural-historical, cultural-historical and ensemble value:

- due to the farm type;

- due to the use of materials, the detailing and several special components in the interior.

- due to the building components which are reasonably intact in main form, use of materials and detailing.

- as a marking of the intersection of the front and rear roads and due to its visually defining location in the open polder landscape.

- due to the recognisable spatial-functional and visual relationship with the outbuildings.

- due to the rarity value of the type, which is rare in the Vijfheerenlanden.
