Inleiding
VILLA in eclectische trant uit omstreeks 1885 met bijbehorende ERFSCHEIDING, gesitueerd op de hoek van de Hoflaan in de as van de Dorpsstraat.
N.B. De aanbouw uit 1973 aan de achterzijde is van ondergeschikt belang.
Omschrijving
Villa van twee bouwlagen en zolderverdieping, op globaal winkelhaakvormige plattegrond met twee vleugels onder flauw hellende haaks op elkaar aansluitende zinken zadeldaken met roeven. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in bruine baksteen met gepleisterde plint, cordonlijsten, sierstenen en smalle speklagen. Op de begane grond overwegend getoogde T-vensters en op de verdieping schuifvensters in gedecoreerde omlijsting.
De voorgevel (N) aan de Hoflaan telt vier vensterassen waarvan de linker twee in een risaliet met puntgevel onder overstekend dak met makelaar en sierlijk houtsnijwerk in de top. In de geveltop een Palladiaans venster onder gepleisterde lijst. Rechts van de risaliet de iets verhoogde entreepartij met oorspronkelijke deur en trap van vijf treden. Links aan de gevel langs de Dorpsstraat (O) een hoekrisaliet met driezijdige erker, balkon met sierlijk ijzeren hekwerk en in de puntgevel een Palladiaans venster onder makelaar met decoratief houtsnijwerk. Op de verdieping een dubbele glasdeur die opent op het balkon. In het terugliggende geveldeel rechts twee vensterassen met in de mezzanino twee liggende horizontale vensters. De westgevel bevat een keldervenster onder een (later ingebracht) venster begane gronds en rechts een smal verdiepingsvenster. In de geveltop een keperboogvenster. De witgepleisterde achtergevel (Z) is nagenoeg blind en bevat in het rechter risaliet met puntgevel en makelaar een verdiepingsvenster.
De tuin rond het pand wordt langs de straat afgesloten door een rondlopend ijzeren spijlenhek op laag gemetseld muurtje.
Waardering
Laat 19de-eeuwse villa met erfscheiding, van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde als representatief en uitwendig grotendeels gaaf voorbeeld van de eclectische bouwtrant. Het pand is van stedebouwkundig belang vanwege de beeldbepalende situering op de hoek van de Hoflaan en in de as van de Dorpsstraat.

Description
Villa of two storeys and attic storey, on a roughly L-shaped floor plan with two wings under gently sloping hipped roofs meeting at right angles with eaves. The facades are built in brown brick with plastered plinth, cordon mouldings, decorative stones and narrow brick courses. On the ground floor predominantly arched T-windows and on the storey above sash windows in decorated moulding.
The front facade (N) on the Hoflaan has four window axes, of which the left two in a risalit with pointed gable under projecting roof with moulding and elegant wood carving in the gable top. In the gable top a Palladian window under plastered moulding. To the right of the risalit the slightly raised entrance section with original door and staircase of five steps. On the left at the gable along the Dorpsstraat (E) a corner risalit with three-sided bay, balcony with elegant iron railings and in the pointed gable a Palladian window under moulding with decorative wood carving. On the storey above a double glass door opening onto the balcony. In the recessed gable section to the right two window axes with in the mezzanine two horizontal windows. The west gable contains a basement window under a (later inserted) window on the ground floor and to the right a narrow storey window. In the gable top a herringbone arch window. The white-plastered rear facade (S) is almost blind and contains in the right risalit with pointed gable and moulding a storey window.
The garden around the building is closed off along the street by a continuous iron railings fence on a low brick wall.
Valuation
Late 19th-century villa with boundary fencing, of general importance because of its architectural and cultural-historical value as a representative and externally largely intact example of the eclectic building style. The building is of urban-planning importance because of its image-forming situation at the corner of the Hoflaan and on the axis of the Dorpsstraat.
