Inleiding
(Voormalige) WINKEL annex kunsthandel uit 1920 in historiserende trant, gebouwd naar ontwerp van Amsterdamse architect A. Jacot gebouwd als uitbreiding van het pand met klokgevel uit 1787 (monnr. 9043) op de hoek met de Kerkstraat. Volgens het ontwerp van Jacot werd het pand langs de Kerkstraat vergroot en in het nieuwe gedeelte een expositieruimte gerealiseerd. In 1936 werden de winkel en het pand met klokgevel intern verbouwd tot café-restaurant "Het Huis met de Pilaren", gelegen in het van rijkswege beschermde dorpsgezicht van Bergen.
Omschrijving
Winkelpui aan de Raadhuisstraat onder een kap waarvan de noklijn evenwijdig aan de straat ligt. Het dak is gedekt met rode Hollandse pannen.
De winkelpui bestaat uit een terugliggende gepotdekselde gevel met daarvoor een veranda met op de rooilijn vijf op hardstenen basementen rustende zuilen die het hoofdgestel ondersteunen van het overstekende dakschild op houten klossen. In de houten gevel drie vensters met achtruits bovenlichten en een deur met liggend ruitmotief in het bovenlicht. In het dakschild twee platgedekte dakkapellen met meerruits raam.
Waardering
De (voormalige) winkel uit 1920, het "Huis met de Pilaren", is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde als uitbreiding van het rijksmonument (9043) op de hoek en door de kolommen als markant en beeldbepalend onderdeel in de gevelwand aan de Raadhuisstraat in het van rijkswege beschermde dorpsgezicht van Bergen.

(Former) SHOP attached to an art gallery from 1920 in historicist style, built according to a design by Amsterdam architect A. Jacot constructed as an extension of the bell-gable building from 1787 (monument no. 9043) on the corner with the Kerkstraat. In 1936 the shop and the bell-gable building were internally converted into a café-restaurant "Het Huis met de Pilaren", located in the nationally protected village scene of Bergen.
Description
Shop front on the Raadhuisstraat under a roof pitch with the ridge line parallel to the street. The roof is covered with red Dutch tiles.
The shop front consists of a recessed potted facade with in front a veranda with on the building line five columns resting on ashlar bases which support the main cornice of the overhanging roof section on wooden brackets. In the wooden facade three windows with horizontal-pane fanlights and a door with horizontal pane motif in the fanlight. In the roof section two flat-deck dormers with multi-pane windows.
Valuation
The (former) shop from 1920, the "Huis met de Pilaren", is of general importance because of its architectural and cultural-historical value as an extension of the national monument (9043) on the corner and by the columns as a striking and visually defining component in the facade wall on the Raadhuisstraat in the nationally protected village scene of Bergen.
