Inleiding
Langs de oostzijde van de Duin en Kruidbergerweg gesitueerd HEK uit 1912, deel uitmakend van het complex landgoed Duin en Kruidberg. Het hek vormt de westelijke begrenzing van het oorspronkelijk bij Duin en Kruidberg behorende landgoed Kennemergaarde en strekt zich uit over de gehele lengte van dit voormalige landgoed.
Omschrijving
Circa 1 meter hoog smeedijzeren spijlenhek bestaande uit vertikale spijlen met gedraaide kop. Tien à vijftien spijlen vormen met elkaar een hekdeel. De hekdelen worden gescheiden door hogere en sober gedecoreerde hekpalen die aan de achterzijde geschoord zijn. Om de drie hekdelen maakt de hekpaal plaats voor een hoger sierstuk van rijk gekruld smeedwerk. Ter hoogte van de voormalige portierswoning Duin en Kruidbergerweg 47 heeft het hek een doorgang die wordt gemarkeerd door de twee afzonderlijk beschreven zandstenen hekpijlers. Een tweede doorgang bevond zich vermoedelijk op de hoek met de Kennemergaardeweg. Deze voormalige doorgang wordt gemarkeerd door hogere sierstukken als genoemd.

FENCE situated along the east side of the Duin en Kruidbergerweg from 1912, forming part of the Duin en Kruidberg country estate complex. The fence forms the western boundary of the former Kennemergaarde country estate, which originally belonged to Duin en Kruidberg, and extends along the entire length of this former estate.
Description
Approximately 1 metre high wrought-iron railing fence consisting of vertical pickets with twisted caps. Ten to fifteen pickets form a fence section together. The fence sections are separated by higher and soberly decorated fence posts which are braced at the back. Every three fence sections the fence post is replaced by a higher ornamental piece of richly curled wrought ironwork. At the height of the former lodge-keeper's house Duin en Kruidbergerweg 47 the fence has a passage which is marked by the two separately described sandstone fence piers. A second passage was presumably at the corner with the Kennemergaardeweg. This former passage is marked by higher ornamental pieces as mentioned.
