Inleiding
TOEGANGSHEK, als onderdeel van het boerderijcomplex 'Rustoord'. De boerderij, genaamd `Rustoord', behoorde tot het van oorsprong 17de eeuwse buiten Vegtvliet dat tegenover de boerderij is gesitueerd.
Omschrijving
Het aan de Straatweg ter plaatse van de oprit naar de boerderij gelegen smeedijzeren toegangshek in de vormentaal van Lodewijk XIV stijl uitgevoerd, bevat twee hekpijlers met vleugelstukken en dubbele draaihekken. De pijlers bestaan uit rechthoekige staanders met siersmeedwerk. De draaihekken zijn uitgerust met spijlen, aan de zuidwestzijde gecombineerd met een opengewerkt siersmeed hek. De vleugels worden gevormd door een sierlijk, in voluutvormen getrokken ijzerwerk.
Langs de oprit staat aan weerszijden en haaks op het inrijhek een vast gietijzeren hek met classicistische pijlers.
Waardering
Het hek is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een gaaf bewaard smeedijzeren toegangshek in de stijl van Neo-Lodewijk XIV, vanwege de detaillering en het materiaal, vanwege de overeenkomst in vormgeving met het hekwerk van Vegtvliet alsmede vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde als functioneel onderdeel van het complex en als herinnering aan de relatie van de boerderij met het buiten Vegtvliet. The wrought-iron entrance gate located on the Straatweg at the approach to the farmhouse, executed in the formal language of Louis XIV style, contains two gate posts with wings and double swing gates. The posts consist of rectangular uprights with ornamental ironwork. The swing gates are fitted with spikes, on the south-west side combined with an open ornamental wrought-iron gate. The wings are formed by elegant, scroll-shaped ironwork.
Along the approach, on either side and perpendicular to the approach gate, stands a fixed cast-iron fence with classicistic posts.
