Omschrijving
Inleiding.

Description
Introduction.
FARMHOUSE of the short-gable type, built around 1890 in artisanal-traditional forms. The entirely detached farmhouse is situated somewhat outside the built-up area of Heesch on the Vinkelsestraat, the south-eastern exit road. This is in all likelihood an older farmhouse that was converted to brick construction in the course of the previous century. The farmhouse is surrounded by a yard with several monumental trees. The farmhouse was used as a dwelling and for keeping livestock on a small scale. Nowadays the building serves exclusively as a residence.
Description.
Short-gable farmhouse on a rectangular ground plan with facades in fair-faced brickwork under a half-hipped roof, covered with thatch and pan tiles. Front facade consisting of four bays; a panelled door with divided fanlight flanked by two closed rectangular windows with six-light sash windows and on the left side the small rectangular window of the chamber. All windows still have the original shutters. Above the entrance is a small rectangular window with a four-light frame providing light access to the loft. In the front facade are further iron wall anchors for the beam layer and the wall plate. The brickwork of the front facade shows irregularities. For instance, the windows at the top are closed differently and only the left side has wattle-work.
The arrangement of the long facade facing the street has been somewhat altered over the years. At the residential section there are several closed rectangular windows here. On the masonry of the business section the development thereof can be read clearly. The doors have been changed several times. The rear side of this has small six-light stable windows with iron bars. The rear section is built in grey cement stone. There are also several small extensions here, likewise built with cement stone walls.
The rear facade has only small wall openings with hay loft and small stable windows.
The arrangement of the farmhouse is traditional. Behind the front facade is the residential section with the hearth, flanked by bedrooms and a chamber with an underlying cellar. Behind the residential section is a firewall built in lime stone with a simple kitchen behind it. Behind this is a small, transversely placed, cow shed with feeding troughs. This is followed by the large threshing floor with a potato and beet storage. At the very rear are stone pig sties. The roof truss structure of the farmhouse is unclad. At the front the roof and masonry were somewhat altered after 1944 as a result of war damage.
Valuation.
The farmhouse is of general interest because of the high cultural-historical value the building has as a particular expression of a socio-economic and a typological development; namely the development of the small rural enterprise and the short-gable farmhouse type in general. The farmhouse has architectural-historical significance because of the particular coherence between exterior and interior. The farmhouse is of significance because of the integrity of both the interior and the exterior.
