Inleiding
Het dubbel HERENHUIS is gelegen aan de Willem II-singel in Roermond.
De panden zijn gebouwd in Traditionele stijl met invloed van het Eclecticisme (XIXd). Pand nr 42 heeft nieuwe kozijnen in de achtergevel.
Omschrijving
Het dubbel HERENHUIS met hoofdzakelijk rechthoekige plattegrond is symmetrisch van opbouw en heeft twee bouwlagen met souterrain en zolderverdieping onder een afgeknot zadeldak met shingels.
De voorgevels hebben een hardstenen plint en een gepleisterde opstand met imitatievoegen. In de gevels bevinden zich rechthoekige houten kozijnen met dubbele vensters en bovenlicht.
Pand nr 44 heeft authentieke glas-in-loodvensters. De achtergevel hebben een opstand van baksteen metselwerk in kruisverband.
De VOORGEVELS van beide panden bestaan uit drie traveeën met authentieke houten deuren met panelen en bovenlicht, drie hardsteen treden. In de plint bevinden zich segmentvormige souterrainvensters. De vensters in de voorgevel bevinden zich in een gestucte lijst en boven een cordonlijst op consoles of pilasters, die over de breedte van de gevel doorloopt. In de borstwering onder de vensters bevindt zich een gestuct paneel.
Boven de entree bevindt zich een balkon met geprofileerde rand op rijk gestucte consoles. Op het balkon staat een fraai en decoratief smeedijzeren hekwerk, waarachter dubbele balkondeuren. De voorgevel wordt beëindigd door bloktanden onder een goot op kleine consoles. In de travee van de entree bevindt zich een dakkapel tussen gestucte pilasters met klauwstukken, onder een fronton. Pand nr 44 heeft twee oeil-de-boeuf in gestucte lijst.
De ACHTERGEVEL van de panden hebben een opstand van baksteen in kruisverband. Tegen de achtergevel van pand nr 42 staat uitbouwen van twee-en-halve laag en bij pand nr 44 van twee bouwlagen, beide met hoofdzakelijk dubbele vensters met bovenlicht en onder een plat dak. De eerste bouwlaag van pand nr 44 is dieper en heeft een zadeldak. In de achtergevel van pand nr 44 bevinden zich per laag twee dubbele vensters met bovenlicht, hardstenen dorpel en rollaag. De achterdeuren bevinden zich in de uitbouw en zijn bereikbaar via een aantal treden, waaronder zich de toegang naar het souterrain bevindt.
Achter in de tuin van het pand nr 44 bevindt zich een klein houten TUINHUIS van een bouwlaag onder een plat dak. Het vijfzijdige gebouw heeft aan drie kanten openslaande deuren met panele en glas en glas-in-loodbovenlichten.
De STRUCTUUR van het INTERIEUR van het pand nr 42 is in tact en ook van het pand nr 44 is in hoge mate in tact hetgeen blijkt uit de situering van gang, trappenhuis en kamers.
