Inleiding
Het blok van zeven ARBEIDERSWONINGEN is gelegen aan de Mauritsstraat in het Roermondse Veld. Het blok vormt samen met nog drie blokken woningen aan de Koningin Regentesselaan 48-60, 62-86 en 88-100 het complex Koningin Regentesselaan.
De woningen zijn gebouwd in 1919-1920 in traditionele stijl als eerste woningroep van de LADA. Deze socialistische woningbouwvereniging "Limburg Aan De Arbeiders" is opgericht in 1918. De wonigen zijn onder meer in 1967, 1979 en 1994 verbeterd en gerenoveerd.
Omschrijving
ARBEIDERSWONINGEN met een L-vormige plattegrond in één bouwlaag onder mansardedaken in lengterichting en halve schilddaken op de achteraanbouwen, beide gedekt met muldenpannen. Op de daken staan enkele en dubbele dakkapellen onder kleine dakschilden, eveneens met muldenpannen. De gevels hebben een opstand van baksteen in Vlaams verband en een plint met rollaag met afwisselende staande en naar achter hellende stenen. De hoekpanden en het middelste pand hebben aan de straatzijde een topgevel onder een mansardedak in de dwarsrichting. In de gevels bevinden zich houten kozijnen met dubbel glas, baksteen dorpels en niet originele deuren.
De eerste laag van de VOORGEVEL van de woningen heeft een niet originele deur met bovenlichten en een groot venster. In de tweede laag onder de knik van het mansardedak bevindt zich een dubbele dakkapel. De woningen met de topgevel aan de straatzijde hebben in de tweede laag eveneens twee dubbele vensters waarboven zich baksteen siermetselwerk in relief bevindt. Dat begint vanaf de knik in het mansardedak, dat de topgevel dekt.
De nokrichting van dit dak staat haaks op de lengterichting van het blok.
De ACHTERGEVELS van de woningen hebben in de eerste laag een deur en een venster. In het dakvlak bevindt zich een dakkapel met dubbel vensters. De kleine uitbouw wordt gedekt door een half schilddak met op de nok een schoorsteen. De woningen zijn vergroot tot aan de achtergevel van de uitbouw.
De ZIJGEVELS van de hoekwoningen hebben in de eerste laag twee enkele vensters, waarboven zich in het dakvlak twee dakkapellen bevinden.
Waardering
De ARBEIDERSWONINGEN aan de Koningin Regentesselaan in het Roermondse Veld zijn van belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische en politieke ontwikkeling, als eerste woninggroep van de socialistische woningbouwvereniging LADA in Roermond, gebouwd in het overwegend katholieke Limburg.
De architectuurhistorische waarden van de woningen worden bepaald door het belang door de esthetische kwaliteiten van het ontwerp, het materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek. De ensemblewaarden van het blok arbeiderswoningen zijn van bijzondere betekenis als onderdeel van het complex Koningin Regentesselaan dat cultuurhistorisch van belang is. The block of seven WORKERS' DWELLINGS is located on the Mauritsstraat in the Roermondse Veld. The block forms, together with three further blocks of dwellings at Koningin Regentesselaan 48-60, 62-86 and 88-100, the Koningin Regentesselaan complex.

The facades have a brick facing in Flemish bond and a plinth with roll moulding with alternating vertical and backward-leaning stones. The corner buildings and the central building have a stepped gable on the street side under a mansard roof in the transverse direction. The facades contain wooden cross windows with double glazing, brick sills and non-original doors.
The first storey of the FRONT FACADE of the dwellings has a non-original door with fanlights and a large window. In the second storey under the break of the mansard roof is a double roof dormer. The dwellings with the stepped gable on the street side have in the second storey likewise two double windows above which brick ornamental brickwork in relief is located. This begins from the break in the mansard roof that covers the stepped gable.
The ridge direction of this roof stands perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the block.
