Inleiding
De KERHOFKAPEL, gewijd aan St. Oda, is ontworpen door de architect Granpré Molière en in 1934 gebouwd als afsluiting van de zuidelijke dwarsarm van de begraafplaatsaanleg. Zij is gelegen op de St. Odaberg, de plek waar volgens de overlevering de Heilige Oda heeft geleefd, en waar zij na die tijd werd geëerd.
Het Neo-Gotische BEELD van St. Oda uit omstreeks 1853, dat oorspronkelijk op de plek van de kapel stond als pendant van het Martinusbeeld, heeft sinds 1934 een plaats aan de achterzijde van de kapel.
Omschrijving
De ronde kapel van machinale baksteen heeft een rond tentdak met breed overstek, belegd met leien in Maasdekking. De nok van het dak is afgezet met koperplaat en wordt door een spits bekroond. De kapel wordt voorafgegaan door een risalerend portaal onder zadeldak met breed overstek, belegd met leien in Maasdekking. Boven de toegangsdeur is een viertal stenen geplaatst met de volgende inscripties: "27/11", "14/5", "7/6", "26/8", die duiden op de datum van respectievelijk de gedenkdag van St. Oda en de pastoorsbenoeming van de stichter van de kapel, A.J. van Erp; de plechtige verheffing van St. Oda's gebeente door bisschop Otbertus; de priesterwijding van A.J. van Erp; de inwijding van de kapel ter gelegenheid van het gouden priesterfeest van pastoor A.J. van Erp. Rondom zijn vier hoge rondboogvensters geplaatst, gevuld met glas-in-loodramen. De dakrand is gesierd met gemetselde kraagstukken, die de kapconstructie dragen. In de oostzijde van de kapel is een houten deur aangebracht, onder licht getoogde segmentboog. Aan de achterzijde is een vrijhangende overkapping met zadeldak geplaatst, rustend op uitkragend mestelwerk. Onder de overkapping is een levensgroot zandstenen beeld geplaatst op een hoge gemetselde sokkel. Het verbeeldt een staande St. Oda in geplooid gewaad, het gelaat naar beneden gericht en de ogen neergeslagen. De rechter hand voor de borst geheven en de linker vrijhangend.
In de westelijke muur van het portaal is een gedenksteen aangebracht met de inscriptie: "TER HERINNERING AAN DE HUT, WAARIN ST. ODA HIER LEEFDE EN STIERF (726), AAN DE KAPEL WAARIN HAAR GEBEENTE WERD VEREERD (1103) EN AAN HET ST. ODAHUISJE, IS BIJ HET GOUDEN-PRIESTERJUBILÉ VAN DEN HERDER DER PAROCHIE IN 1934, DEZE KAPEL GEBOUWD." Rondom de kapel is een bordes aangebracht, dat wordt bereikt vanaf de voorzijde via twee halfronde trappen. Bordes en trappen zijn afgezet met een eenvoudige smeedijzeren balustrade.

The CEMETERY CHAPEL, dedicated to St. Oda, was designed by architect Granpré Molière and built in 1934 as a closure of the southern transverse wing of the cemetery layout. The round chapel of machine-made brick has a round pavilion roof with broad overhang, covered with slate in Meuse bond. The roof ridge is finished with copper plate and is crowned by a spire. Within the projecting portico a semicircular gable niche is fitted, within which a two-part wooden entrance door with panels is placed. Above the entrance door four stones are placed with the following inscriptions: "27/11", "14/5", "7/6", "26/8", which refer to the date of respectively the feast day of St. Oda and the pastoral appointment of the chapel's founder, A.J. van Erp; the solemn elevation of St. Oda's remains by bishop Otbertus; the ordination to priesthood of A.J. van Erp; the dedication of the chapel on the occasion of the golden jubilee of priesthood of pastor A.J. van Erp. Around it four tall round-arched windows are placed, filled with stained glass. The roof edge is decorated with masonry corbels, which carry the roof truss structure. On the east side of the chapel a wooden door is fitted, under a lightly arched segmental arch. On the rear a free-standing canopy with gabled roof is placed, resting on cantilevered masonry. Beneath the canopy a life-size sandstone image is placed on a high masonry base. It depicts a standing St. Oda in pleated robes, the face turned downward and the eyes cast down. The right hand raised before the chest and the left hanging free.
In the western wall of the portico a commemorative stone is fitted with the inscription: "IN REMEMBRANCE OF THE HUT, IN WHICH ST. ODA LIVED AND DIED HERE (726), OF THE CHAPEL IN WHICH HER REMAINS WERE VENERATED (1103) AND OF THE ST. ODAHOUSE, AT THE GOLDEN JUBILEE OF PRIESTHOOD OF THE SHEPHERD OF THE PARISH IN 1934, THIS CHAPEL WAS BUILT." Around the chapel a platform is fitted, which is reached from the front via two semicircular stairs. Platform and stairs are finished with a simple wrought-iron balustrade.
