Inleiding
MUZIEKTENT, in 1925 naar ontwerp van H. Boers gebouwd in opdracht van het bestuur van de muziekvereniging 'De Vecht' te Vreeland, opgericht in 1923 in aansluiting bij een landelijke tendens. Oorspronkelijk stond de muziektent op de hoek Duinkerken en Spoorlaan, nabij het hotel De Nederlanden. Vanwege windoverlast is in 1945 de muziektent verplaatst naar de huidige locatie aan de Lindengracht. De houten toegangstrap is vervangen door een modern hardhouten exemplaar. De muziektent is gelegen binnen het beschermd dorpsgezicht van Vreeland.
Omschrijving
De op de hoek van de Lindengracht en de Raadhuislaan gelegen muziektent is deels op een vlonder in een brede sloot gesitueerd. De houten muziektent heeft een achtzijdig grondplan met aan zeven zijden een gesloten borstwering bestaande uit (witgeschilderde) gepotdekselde planken tussen (groengeschilderde) hoekribben. Acht geprofileerde, binnen de borstwering vrijstaande houten staanders (in de vorm van een dubbele stemvork) dragen een inzwenkend rietgedekt tentdak, bekroond door een staande trompet. Aan de binnenzijde is het dak voorzien van een plafond samengesteld uit acht segmenten van rabatdelen, die samenkomen in een rozet. De vloer van de muziektent bestaat uit houten vloerdelen.
Waardering
Het object is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als gaaf en nog maar weinig voorkomend voorbeeld van een houten muziektent met een rieten tentdak, in 1925 ontworpen door H. Boers, alsmede vanwege de gave detaillering. Tevens als uitdrukking van een landelijke ontwikkeling op het gebied van het ontstaan van muziekverenigingen en daarmee verband houdend de opkomst van muziektenten sinds het einde van de negentiende eeuw tot het midden van de twintigste eeuw.

MUSIC PAVILION, built in 1925 to the design of H. Boers on the instruction of the board of the music society 'De Vecht' in Vreeland, founded in 1923 in line with a national trend. Originally the music pavilion stood at the corner of Duinkerken and Spoorlaan, near the hotel De Nederlanden. Because of wind problems the music pavilion was moved in 1945 to the current location on the Lindengracht. The wooden access stairs were replaced by a modern hardwood example. The music pavilion is located within the protected townscape of Vreeland.
Description
The music pavilion located at the corner of the Lindengracht and the Raadhuislaan is partly situated on a platform in a wide ditch. The wooden music pavilion has an eight-sided ground plan with on seven sides a closed breast-height wall consisting of (whitewashed) coped planks between (green-painted) corner ribs. Eight profiled, free-standing wooden posts (in the form of a double tuning fork) within the breast-height wall carry an inclined thatched pavilion roof, crowned by a standing trumpet. On the inside the roof is provided with a ceiling composed of eight segments of rabat parts, which meet in a rosette. The floor of the music pavilion consists of wooden floorboards.
Valuation
The object is of general importance because of its cultural and architectural historical value as an intact and increasingly rare example of a wooden music pavilion with a thatched roof, designed in 1925 by H. Boers, as well as because of the intact detailing. Also as an expression of a national development in the field of the establishment of music societies and the associated rise of music pavilions since the end of the nineteenth century to the middle of the twentieth century.
