Inleiding
HEKWERK, behorend bij R.K. complex St. Willibrordus. Het complex is ontworpen door architect Nicolaas Molenaar in 1885.
Omschrijving
In 1884 vervaardigd HEKWERK, de hoofdtoegang vormend van de rooms-katholieke begraafplaats. Het smeedijzeren hekwerk heeft stijlen, ingevuld met traliewerk in de vorm van speren met gouden punten en voorzien van eenvoudige vleugels. De bekroning van de stijlen bestaat uit krulwerk met daarin het jaartal `18'`84'. Tussen de stijlen is een boog aangebracht. De draaiende delen hebben een patroon bestaande uit krulwerk.
Waardering
Van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als gaaf en fraai vormgegeven voorbeeld van een smeedijzeren hekwerk met datering uit 1884. Tevens vanwege de cultuurhistorische- en ensemblewaarde vanwege de relatie met de begraafplaats en het kerkelijk complex.

Description
Wrought-iron FENCE manufactured in 1884, forming the main entrance of the Roman Catholic cemetery. The wrought-iron fence has uprights, filled with railing work in the form of spears with gilded points and provided with simple wings. The crowning of the uprights consists of scrollwork with the date '18'84' in it. Between the uprights an arch is attached. The hinged parts have a pattern consisting of scrollwork.
Valuation
Of general importance because of the architectural historical value as a well-preserved and finely designed example of wrought-iron fencing with dating from 1884. Also because of the cultural historical and ensemble value because of the relation with the cemetery and the ecclesiastical complex.
