Inleiding
VILLA Vredewoud te Oldeberkoop is in 1899 naar ontwerp van O.M. Meek uit Donkerbroek gerealiseerd in opdracht van E. Willinge Prins. De villa met eclectische- en chaletstijl-elementen is onderdeel van het complex waartoe ook de tuinmanswoning behoort.
Omschrijving
De villa van twee bouwlagen heeft een overstekend geknikt schilddak, doorbroken door topgevels met zadeldak, driepas sierspant en piron. Het dak is belegd met daktegels; de goot wordt gedragen door gootklampen. In de dak-vlakken zijn drie dakkapellen met spits en wangen. Het opgaande muurwerk bestaat uit bruine bakstenen op een natuurstenen plint. Rondom het pand lo-pen sierbanden van natuursteen en rode verblendsteen. Aan de zuidoostzijde van de voorgevel is de gevel uitkragend over de beide bouwlagen; op de ver-dieping is een rechthoekige erker. Op de zuidwesthoek zijn twee serres; een zeshoekige en trapeziumvormige. De zeshoekige serre en erker hebben glas-in-lood bovenlichten met art-nouveau motieven en gesneden kozijnen. De overige vensters zijn deels voorzien van glas-in-lood bovenlichten en worden afgesloten door een segmentboog met aanzet- en sluitstenen. De trommelvelden zijn deels gevuld met tegeltjes. De oorspronkelijke dubbele houten deur met natuurstenen stoep heeft een bo-venlicht onder een segmentboog met aanzet- en sluitstenen en een gevuld trommelveld. Het venster boven de entree op de verdieping wordt bekroond door een tegeltableau waarop staat 'Vredewoud'.

Description
The villa of two storeys has an overhanging bent hipped roof, broken through by gable ends with gabled roofs, trefoil ornamental brace and finial. The roof is covered with roof tiles; the gutter is carried by gutter clamps. In the roof planes are three roof dormers with sharp ends and cheeks. The masonry walls consist of brown bricks on a natural stone plinth. Around the building run stone ornamental bands and red facing brick. On the south-east side of the front facade the gable projects over both storeys; on the upper floor is a rectangular bay window. On the south-west corner are two conservatories; one hexagonal and one trapezoid. The hexagonal conservatory and bay window have glass-in-lead fanlights with art-nouveau motifs and carved frames. The remaining windows are partly fitted with glass-in-lead fanlights and are closed by a segmental arch with springstone and keystones. The drum spaces are partly filled with tiles. The original double wooden door with natural stone doorstep has a fanlight beneath a segmental arch with springstone and keystones and a filled drum space. The window above the entrance on the upper floor is crowned by a tile tableau bearing the inscription 'Vredewoud'.
